Times Square Failed Bomb Attack New York City Police Hunt White Man After Camera Footage Emerges

Salon.com points out the liberals thought the Times Square terrorist might be a Beck patriot,  not because they could not believe a Muslim was behind it,  but because the New York City Police Commissioner had described " a white male".

Some had also thought that the closeness to the Oklahoma City bombing anniversary,  and MSNBC's constant airing of the Timothy McVeigh special,  might have provoked someone.  But none of this has anything to do with liberals being unable or unwilling to concede that some Muslims are terrorists.

The bloggers at National Review's The Corner can barely conceal their glee that the man arrested this morning for attempted terror is a proper foreign-born Muslim dude, and not a God-fearing white Christian. Jonah Goldberg admits as much:

When the Times Square story first broke there was a part of me that said, "Man, I hope it's not some white militia nutjob." When I saw the news this morning that it was a Pakistani, the same small part of me was relieved.

A normal human might be relieved,  says Salon,  that the person responsible for the attempted bombing is in custody.   But it would appear Jonah is just relieved that his prejudices against Muslims were reinforced.

Salon points out that liberals  did not just leap to blame a white guy because they hate white guys so much. People were speculating about a white guy because New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly distinctly described " a white male".

I think the Salon libs were disappointed that the "beck" group didnt hurt anyone in New York. This is sick and pathetic behavior.

Well,  I can not be sure.  Either way, people disappointed it was not a Beck patriot, or people glad it was a Muslim, is sick and pathetic.

Jumping to conclusions is the liberal way, dincha know?

I'm sure that there are many "progressives" out there that are quite upset that the bomber is not a white guy just as there as those that are glad that the attempted bombing is the work of a Muslim terrorist. Either way, it's sick and pathetic as SM rightly pointed out.

In the end, this is a tragic story about a Pakistani young man and his family purusing a new life in America and being unable to overcome loyalty to religion and to a country and a community where the USA encouraged young Muslim men to fight Russians and whose prayer mats were pulled out from under them as they hung out there looking for a new enemy to fight as that is their only skill. Well, that is one way to look at it.

I would like to see Americans come home so we can devote our effort to becoming energy independent.
