Explosion Gulf, San Juan PR

There was a gigantic explosion at the Carribean Petroleum Corp gasoline warehouse and distribution center in San Juan, Puerto Rico (see picture via CNN).  The blast occurred at approximately 12:30AM, igniting a massive fire that continues to burn and won't subside for a few more days.

No fatalities has been reported, although there have been a few minor injuries so far.  The facility suffered major damage, where eleven out of forty tanks exploded.

The explosion has caused San Juan officials to temporarily shut down the city.  Nearby residents are being evacuated while residents a little further away have been strongly advised to shut their windows.  The Federal Aviation Administration have placed temporary flight restrictions over the San Juan area.  Schools have been closed.  In general, Puerto Ricans are being asked to avoid the San Juan area.
