San Marcos High School Lockdown Ends Without Injury
A lockdown at San Marcos high school on California has ended without injury and students have been released. The San Marcos high school lockdown was initiated after an incident involving two groups of teens near the school raised an alarm. The incident was followed by reports of a man on school grounds with a gun. In an attempt to keep the students of San Marcos high school safe the Santa Barbara School District ordered an immediate lockdown but all 1,800 students are safe.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department completed a search of the school's campus around 3:45 p.m., after witnesses reported seeing a man carrying a gun near the school.
The school began releasing around 1,800 students in groups around 3:50 p.m. The process could take up to an hour. Parents wishing to pick up their children should go to the Turnpike Shopping Center at Hollister Avenue and Turnpike Road.
The search began when two groups got into an altercation at the Turnpike Shopping Center across the street from the school. There were no reports of shots fired.
