Murdered eight year old Sandra Cantu's memorial service was held today in Tracy California where she was found dead on April 6th, her body stuffed into a suitcase and thrown in a pond.

Sunday school teacher and nearby resident to the Cantu's, Melissa Huckaby, 28, has been arrested and charged with raping and killing Sandra, who was a friend of Huckaby's five-year old daughter. She faces murder, kidnapping, and the performance of a lewd and lascivious act on a child charges.

Huckaby, a Sunday school teacher at Clover Road Baptist Church, lived in the nearby mobile home park that Sandra's family lived in.

Huckaby could receive the death penalty or life without parole if convicted.

It was a celebration of her life.

Boxer said she learned that Cantu was a "happy, friendly girl" who loved to "do cartwheels and play with her friends.""And her sister Simone simply called her an 'awesome sister,'" Boxer said.

...The gym seats about 2,600 people. Other mourners were seated outside in an overflow area.
