NP Rank:
Sarah and Todd Palin To Divorce After Affair Rumors is Not True
Sarah Palin and her husband Todd Palin are not going to divorce after allegations of affairs.
A National Enquirer story exposing previous affairs on both sides led to a deterioration of their marriage and the stress from that led to Palin's resignation as governor of Alaska.
A rumor began circulating on the internet today that the duo were divorcing each other, but according to a statement made on Facebook, it is not true.
Yet again, some so-called journalists have decided to make up a story. There is no truth to the recent “story” (and story is the correct term for this type of fiction) that the Palins are divorcing. The Palins remain married, committed to each other and their family, and have not purchased land in Montana (last week it was reported to be Long Island).
Less than one week ago, Governor Palin asked the media to “quit making things up.” We appreciate that the more professional journalists decided to question this story before repeating it.
Meg Stapleton
There were reports that Sarah and Todd were not speaking to each other during Sarah's resignation speech last Sunday, and that they may have been a lead up to this now false divorce.
There are also rumors that Sarah is planning to move to Montana after purchasing land there and Todd told Fox News last week that he was heading back to the oil fields of Alaska, but no official details have been released yet, and in light of the Facebook statement, that is probably not true either.

UPDATE by RAM: So, let me understand the "story" according to Zaki and other "journalists"...
At the beginning of the month, Zaki reported that Gov. Palin was being investigated by the FBI and was going to jail. That turned out to be false. Last week, the ADN reported that Gov. Palin was moving to the Hamptons. That turned out to be false. Today, Zaki reports that Gov. Palin is moving to Montana after throwing her wedding ring into Lake Lucille. That turns out to be false.
They are reporting blatant lies. Quit making things up!

We follow the code of conduct, exactly as I have done here and I completely re-wrote my story to reflect the latest news:
Be accountable - take responsibility for your stories and follow up if necessary. Admit mistakes as soon as you become aware of them and make the appropriate corrections.

In all fairness the tweets were full of divorce rumours this afternoon. So we'll just have to remember "Alaskan Report" and Zaki. I wonder if they'll publish an apology. The link will get you to the front page of the Alaskan Report. It's worth looking at just to see where they come from

Some times I wonder if those rumours are not spread by the Palin clan and supporters to keep Palin in the spot light.

This particular rumour was spread by Alaska Report and the same reporter who has been spreading stories all week and longer than that.

Stories/blogs/whatever about Sarah Palin ALWAYS reveal a deep-seated misogynism in our culture... it is mental rape, and it is a crime of violence. In fact, it is a fantasy-hate-crime which is indulged in by millions of men against this one woman because of what she has said and what she stands for.
Sarah Palin is not responsible for the mistakes of her husband or her daughter. She is not responsible for the Republican Party or the record of the Republican Party.
But she has become the target of so much sexist contempt that the whole situation says so much more about us than about her.

Don't know why Todd would want to leave his wife when she is making the money unless it was for complete boredom of hearing her drone on and on. Many men and women live in different states and fly back and forth. Cindy and John McCain never live together. She lives in one of her ocean homes and he lives in AZ. Some may find this the best way to stay married.
After all the gossip about Obama guess the Righties don't approve of gossip about their Sarah. It works both ways!

There is a difference between critiquing a policy and creating a blatant lie as Zaki did in the Alaskan Report. I would refer you to the link of the Alaskan Report in one of my comments above. Take a look at the lies that are being perpetuated there. This woman has been maligned because of her pro-choice belief. No one on the left ever speaks of her accomplishments starting with the PTA in Wallisa, AK and rise through the city council to mayor. She spend 10 years on that council, four as a councillor and six as the mayor. She chaird the Alaska Oil Conservation Commission, from which she resigned because of the corrupiton she saw.
This prompted her to run for Lieutenant-Governor. She was defeated in her first attempt. She eventually took on her own party and ran in the primaries and defeated the incumbent Governor and the subsequent election.
Other than giving her exposure on the national scene, I think that her selection as VP candidate was probably wrong. That, however, didn't grant licence to crucify her. After all the Presidential candidate for the Democrats didn.t have any more, if not less, experience than her.
The lies continue, even though she hasn't stated her intentions to run in 2012. Even if she did it wouldn't licence to attack her personal life or family. Attacking polices is fair.

MINCHIA AND A DOUBLE JEEZ! Can't y'all see that Sarah has suffered enough? LOL! I really think she's cute when she pouts. Whether or not I agree with her politics, I'd just love to see her as the first woman president (or vice president) and watch the media go ballistic. That would provide more comic relief than Rush Limbaugh's and all of his brethren's combined commentary on Obama. I used to run into Gerry Ferraro on occasion in the grocery store. I prayed to god that she wouldn't get elected. But I'd love to run into Sarah Palin in the grocery store and trade recipes . . . yes by golly!

The media need to learn objectivity again. By golly even good ole Dan Rather knows they're not objective.

Should I translate "minchia" for the readership? :)

Media, which I prefer to call gutter media, cooks up false stories about individuals, couples and families, adds flavor to it to sell it.Gossip mills start working overtime. Some are set to expalin that what ever has been reported is false, some claim that story is true and this futile excercise goes on and on,just for nothing till another sensational story appears on the pages of gutter newspapers
There are hundreds of problems which Americans face in day to-day life and which need serious debates.Sarah Palin wether stays together with her husband or seeks divorce is not going to create any impact on American society in either case. But gutter media will present it as a bigger crises than global economic meltdown, shrinking income and rising cost of living, additions to vast army of unemployed and so on.
It is better to reamin uninformed or ignorant than to read gutter newspapers.

Palin doesn't need the news to show where she is honest and true in her statements and her beliefs , her policies are there in the front for all to see. Obama on the other hand needs the news to cover his mistakes and his policies up so people do not know from one day to the next what he is doing. So far he has managed to cover up that he is causing massive unemployment by stating that he has saved jobs but the numbers and facts speak other wise . If you want to see where we are with no jobs just travel around the country and visit the unemployment office a few days a week and you will see the people he has caused to lose their jobs. One thing needs to be done right away to put people back to work and that is to provide confidence in the economy , one way (the only way) is to get energy prices down lower and lower with an idea it will stay there , then the people would spend again .Drill now every where is the way to get this economy out of the ditch.News media is beginning to look more and more like the National Enquirer
