UPDATE: Seems I was wrong. The Sarah did not get the Bush Doctrine wrong, Charlie did. The Sarah does not make mistakes, according to her media posse.

Actually, I beg to disagree. If you follow their way of excusing ... uh .... thinking ...no ...apologizing, the correct answer is - "Which one, Charlie? What time is it? He's come up with so many!"

Anyway, far be it for me to criticize the Sarah.

GOP Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah obviously had been working hard on her answers with her assigned former Bush campaign handlers. She gleefully spewed them out on cue, even it wasn't the right cue (but that didn't matter).

Those who noticed her ignorance of the "Bush Doctrine" should just stay quiet. Those who do not stay quiet obviously are sexist or anti-Christian or unpatriotic or anti-something-good.

Sarah maintained her composure.

She turned her back on the global warming deniers, making her a little more in lock step with her running mate, ol' what's his name. I think her supporters smiled secretively and thought "that too will pass" (as indeed may ol' what's his name), and there soon will be polar bear hunting trips in Alaska.

Yes, Iraq is a holy war, but not really, because Abraham Lincoln said so. If those are her own words, why are you asking her about them, Charlie? Once again, to disagree with the Sarah is an attack on Christianity itself.

In the meantime, we apparently have added Russia as a likely target for our next holy war; no problem. I am unclear whether that is before or after Iran. However, one more than likely would lead to the other. What a dream for the Armageddon crowd! Brother Hagee must be so pleased.

By the way, Israel gets a pass on anything it wants to do.

Some say she looked nervous. Others say she looked fine. Others are afraid to say anything for fear of biting and swift retribution.

She didn't tank. That's all she had to do. Apparently, she didn't even lie, which may be a first for her in a public appearance for this campaign.

I'm more of a libertarian myself, so pretty much believe both parties suck. However... to play devil's advocate here for a second:

The two major issues listed are the Bush Doctorine and holy war comments.

Point one - She kinda did get it right on the Bush Doctorine - this is from Wikipedia:

The phrase initially described the policy that the United States had the right to treat countries that harbor or give aid to terrorist groups as terrorists themselves.

So, yes, it did change to include the idea of preventive war, but as originally put out it did not, and there might be a liberal / conservative bias on what to include or not in the so called doctorine (it's not like it's some concrete, set in stone sort of thing, it's an evolving thing that seems to mean what people decide it means at the moment...)

Point two - the holy war comment. She is right - it's not exactly what she said because the quote used is from a larger context. What she initially said was that she prayed that the war was god's will. Listen to the entire comment and you will see that. This opens the possibility up that it is not. Hey, I'm an atheist, so any mention of god and his supposed will is crazy talk with me, but come on, people... Either way, remember Rev. Wright? Way scarier.
