After David Letterman apologized for remarks made on his show, Governor Sarah Palin kicked the apology back in his face on the "Today" show and actually accused the 62-year-old comedian of promoting abuse towards young women, contributing to the low self-esteem of women across America and being a possible sexual danger to her 14-year-old daughter Willow.
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin intensified her war of words with comedian David Letterman on Friday, claiming his controversial joke about one of her daughters had contributed to the "acceptance of abuse of young women" and calling on people to "start really
rising up."
Appearing on NBC's Today show, Palin also told host Matt Lauer that he was "extremely naive" if he believed the "Late Show" host's explanation of the joke.
When Lauer noted that Letterman had not mentioned Willow by name and later denied that he was referring to her, Palin responded, "Matt, I would say that you and anybody else are extremely naive to believe that very convenient excuse of David Letterman's the other day. He took a couple of days for him to think of that excuse that, oh, no, he
wasn't talking about my daughter who was there with me at the [Yankees] game, the
14-year-old. Well, I think it's a weak excuse."
She added, "I would hope that people really start -- really rising up and deciding it's not acceptable. No wonder young girls, especially, have such low self-esteem in America." Palin said that she could "connect the dots to a degrading statement made about young women, and that does contribute to some acceptance of abuse of young women."
Later, Lauer pressed Palin to explain a line in a statement from her spokesperson that "it would be wise to keep Willow away from David Letterman." Lauer asked, "Are you
suggesting that David Letterman can't be trusted around a 14-year-old girl?"

Those are some pretty severe accusations. And of course the ever inept "journalist" Matt Lauer takes it a step further by asking "Are you suggesting that David Letterman can't be trusted around a 14-year-old girl?"

I think that if Palin were a lib, the entire event would be seen differently.
Modern libs, the ones that came into power over the liberal movement in the late '60s, do not seem to have any conception of reciprocity nor of any need to rein themselves in.
Letterman's apology was an "I regret having stepped in it" forced confession done to please higher ups.

Yes, they do. Both sides do this sort of thing. I listen to them all and I hear them all do it at times.
My lower lip isn't trembling. I am laughing. Gotcha.
Try not reacting to the person. As I have been told so many times here, we are here to discuss the issue.
I don't see any signs of that in your reply. Could you explain that? :)

In fact, just yesterday I pointed out how Rush Limbaugh had used "Dancing Queen" to mock Barney Frank, while he objected to Barney Frank's position on executive pay.
I pointed out that I agree with Barney Frank's attempt to rein in executive pay and that Rush Limbaugh had no business playing "Dancing Queen" to mock Frank's homosexuality.
So, that is where I come from, and that is how I see it. How do you see it?

Matt Lauer was right to ask that. Palin's publicist said that Palin's 14-year-old daughter should not be around David Letterman. I think Letterman should sue for slander.

You expected a classy response from this woman?

Oh, please. Not the whining, lower lip trembling...."they don't do that to liberals" argument.

Rush Limbaugh used to ridicule Chelsea Clinton's looks regularly. Rush called her "the White House Dog."
Where was the right wing outrage back then?
By the way, Letterman never said anything about Palin's 14-year-old daughter Willow.
