Sarah Palin may lose some Twitter fans, after an off-the-cuff comment at a Republican Party activist and Tea Party movement party yesterday, calling the social network a "Little Twittering Thing".

Palin was asked what she thought was the greatest threat to America, and the crowd began an impromptu chant of "Obama!".

According to CBS, Palin was quick to respond with, “See, they said that, I didn’t. Just you watch now, too, because somebody will be here with their little Twittering thing, and it’s going to be on the Internet any minute now.”

While it may have just been a comment about how quickly rumors and misinformation spreads on the Internet, it does portray Twitter in a negative context. The odd thing is that Palin herself uses Twitter under the SarahPalinUSA monikor.

So did Palin mean to bash the social network, or are Twitterers just overreacting?
