Governor Sarah Palin was once again bashing President Obama again for his government stimulus package, which she quietly accepted a few weeks ago.  But then she made a startling statement that Alaskans may want to pay attention to:

She wants less oil revenue for the state of Alaska, not more.

During a recent interview with Fox News’s Sean Hannity, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin once again criticized President Obama for “spreading the wealth” while at the same time boasting that Alaska spreads its own wealth. “We have a share of our oil resource revenue goes back to the people who own the resources. Imagine that,” she said.

But later in the interview (and in a part that did not air on Hannity’s program last night) Palin actually said that she would rather have Alaska pull in less money in oil revenues than more.

What is wrong with you morally bankrupt people? Why would you post such a blatent distortion?

She said the less money in the hands of government, the better. This is consistent with her values and mine.

She said high oil prices are bad.

What the EFF is WRONG with you? How much hate and venom do you have in your blood to vector an outright misrepresentation like this?

You are not political. You are disgusting.

Alaska is in the black (financially sound) thanks to Governor Palin.

The Oil Companies pay exactly the same to Alaska as they to to other states like Florida and Texas.  What Governor Palin did was play hard ball with the Feds and Alaska gets more while the Feds get less.  Very smart.

Umm, not exactly, Alaskans actually get a percentage of the oil concessions.  Texans do not. Floridians do not.

If Alaska is in such great shape why are their schools in need of the stimulus money that Palin initially turned down, but then quietly accepted?

Umm, less money in the Alaskan government means less money for schools, social services, health care, police, fire department, help for people with disabilities....

Amazing how you don't understand that.

This isn't about the Feds getting money, this about the state of Alaska getting money, sheeesh!

The state of Alaska then uses that money for social services, education, poilce, etc..

Why do I even have to explain this?

I clearly stated:

She wants less oil revenue for the state of Alaska, not more.

Yes, because less oil revenue means that the price of oil is down and that is better for the overall economy.

That is what she meant. She doesn't want the state of Alaska to raise the kids, but that the parents have jobs in a robust economy, one with low oil prices, that is preferable.

Of course it is.
