NP Rank:
Sarah Palin takes first step towards 2012 presidential run
Remember Sarah Palin?
The former vice-presidential candidate for the Republican Party is showing no signs of stepping away from national politics after setting up a political action commitee (PAC) which is being seen by some as a helpful stage towards running for the US presidency in 2012.
Setting up a PAC - known as SarahPAC - allows the Alaska governor to raise money and give out campaign contributions.
The PAC website says:
SarahPAC believes energy independence is a cornerstone of the economic security and progress that every American family wants and deserves.
The PAC has a website and a post office box in Arlington, Virginia but has not yet formally filed its incorporation papers with the Federal Election Commission. According to an official with Sarahpac, papers were filed last night around 5 pm with the FEC and the PAC should be official by later today.
Sarahpac is "dedicated to building America's future, supporting fresh ideas and candidates who share our vision for reform and innovation," according to a statement on the PAC's website.
The PAC's mission statement also highlights the importance of energy independence to the future of the Republican Party and the country at-large, a signal that Palin's likely 2012 bid will have energy policy at its foundation. (Putting energy at the center of Palin 2012 is a smart move, wethinks, given that energy was one of the few issues where Palin seemed entirely at ease during her vice presidential candidacy last year.)
The website itself seems to make little mention of Sarah Palin's most recent endeavours as John McCain's running mate in the 2008 election, preferring instead to focus on her achievements as governor of Alaska.
“In August 2008, Senator John McCain tapped Gov. Palin to serve as his vice presidential running mate in his Presidential campaign, thus making her the first woman to run on the Republican Party's presidential ticket,” reads the site's only reference to the campaign.
The website has no mention of her future political plans or candidates she supports.

I will support her if she enters the next presidential race. For the obama lovers, she will have to come in and clean up all of his bad liberal changes to the united states now and to come in his term as president. Go Sarah!

On the website she stands in front of green mountains, clear air, and clean water. Yet her policies will destroy it all.

Please, no.
Good call, moonwolf. Maybe we should just let it happen. Let's see how much she can spend on her campaign wardrobe between now and 2012. I'm hoping for a record. She could slaughter a few more turkeys, as well...

Exactly how?
The places she is planning on drilling are not exactly scenic.

I don't think the US is going to want another brain dead Big Oil Big Religion Anti-Science Warmonger President for a long long time, if ever. McLame/ Failin lost badly for a reason.

This is a great story. I would like to announce to the Now Public community that I took the liberty to visit the Sarahpac Website. I sent an E Mail to Sarah Palin and members of her campaign to see if they are willing to do an interview with me.
It is hoped that if Sarah Palin or one of her campaign members answers my request, it would form part of a Now Public Exclusive. Please keep your fingers crossed. Thank You.

Why are they bringing this stupid interview where she was not prepared? Why they don't bring the Alaska interviews or the VP debate or the VP acceptance speech where she has proven she can be a contender?
