Scarborough Shooting: 2 Dead, 19 Injured at Toronto Party
Toronto's Worst Shooting: Mass Casualties in Scarborough Shooting
A shooting in Scarborough, Ontario has left two people dead and 19 more injured, including a young child described as an infant or toddler. Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair has called it the Toronto area's worst shooting.
The shooting was the result of a fight at a barbecue party on Danzig Ave, off Scarborough's Morningside Avenue, at which hundreds of people were in attendance on July 16, 2012. Not all of those injured had suffered gunshot wounds.
The suspect in the shooting is in custody; no name has yet been released.
Redditor BitchSlappedByLogic put together a sort of Twitter analysis of the Scarborough shooting. Bear in mind that it's fact-checked: the user gleaned tidbits from Twitter exchanges referencing the party, the shooting, and the aftermath as best as was possible.
Said Blair, "Tonight’s event is unprecedented. It’s going to be shocking to everyone in Toronto, to everyone in Canada."
