Now What? More Turkish Jewish children have been coming to live and to go to school in Israel as this anti-Semitic crisis continues in their native country.
"Me and my friends in the Jewish community in Istanbul are scared to give out our names these days, fearing it might hurt us. We don't want to be identified as Jews."We are afraid to walk down the street, as the atmosphere is very tense. Slogans supporting the Palestinians and against Israel are plastered on walls everywhere, and Palestinian flags can be seen all around. A Palestinian flag was even hung opposite the great synagogue in the Neve Shalom neighborhood where the major bombing occurred.

Moonwolf, expanding anti-Semitism existed far before Israel existed. It would be nice if people with a Jew hating agenda would stick to posting on Neo Nazi websites.

Israel's creation? Alone? What about the contribution of the Islamic Wahabi school mentality, the Jihadist's violence?
Turkey was the seat of the last caliphate of the Islamic world and the seculars of Turkey, tired of being held back by a reactionary Muslim system, rebelled and made Turkey go secular, shoving Islam into the back seat.
If Hamas and Hezbollah eliminated both the rocket attacks and the destruction of Israel clauses from their constitutions, then there would be room for negotiation.
As it is, the hard-line Muslim mentality against the West, the kind that the prez of homosexual-free Iran (that is what he said at Columbia University) is well illustrated in his response to Obama's offer of talks.
Obama will have to apologize before getting to talk to him, as if the European team negotiating for years about the nuke stuff had been getting anywhere.
Already Obama looks foolish, and Hillary's point of how to go about talking to leaders such as Iran's prez looks wise.
There are numerous examples of the training that young Muslims go through at YouTube.

Many groups and individuals have committed wrongs toward each other in this world. We can go on feeling rage and fighting back, or we can try to come to terms with each other's cultures, opinions, mistakes, and aggression. It can't help anything to use these words against one another. We can't hate entire groups for the actions of individuals. Something has to change here, or the problems will stay the same and likely continue to become worse.

Well, I agree that settlements of the West Bank, totally illegal, built with our US money, and severe reactions to threats has helped push this latest round of anti-Semitism. But we have to be fair to come to some kind of resolution that will create conditions for peace.

To be fair and purely legalistic it really is not illegal. It may not be in the best interest of Israel to have some of these settlements but certainly not illegal according to UN resolutions. This is one of these situations where a reality has been created that in fact has nothing to do with the truth.
I find it really iffy to "excuse" anti-Semitic acts by provocation of Israeli settlements. Nah can't buy that one. also, money that comes from the US in fact comes in the form of credits to be used in the US for arms and other military stuff. This is given in this form in order to support and create jobs in the military industrial sector. NO cash involved from government coffers that I know of coming to Israel. Another one of these misinformed easy to be missed truths. I have strongly suggested that Israel politely reject any monies the US government wants to give. Israel doesn't need it. It certainly can get along with out it. Thanks for the comments.

Turkey never had any anti semitic culture in the History. And in whole history Turkey was the supporter of the jews who has in trouble around other coutries and Europe.
Many people has watched the movie Schindler's List who just save few hundred jews. But in WW2 Turkish embassadors give Turkish passports to hundred thousands of jews and brought them to Turkey. Because Turkish passport was the only valid passport to keep you out of trouble in Europe while WW2 continues.
So Turkish culture never had any slavery or racist fractions in history. And Turkey is the only country in middle east who has economic, military and geunie politic relations with Israel.
The last cris happened because of the election in Turkey and Israel.
Israel goverment has been blamed to stay soft for Palestine's attacks and blamed not to keep safety of their citizens. Last attacks of the Israel is a message from Israel cabinet to Israil nation. But this violent message includes too much child blood. Israel attacked and did not obey to the rules. They hit the schools, hospitals even UN buildings. That's not acceptable. If a bank robber has hostages insid ethe bank you don't blow up all bank. If there are civilians you can not hit that area. And Israel says terrorists uses civilians as a shield. That's still not acceptable. Because it is not war and civilians are not in the conflict area. Terrorists living in the civilian areas. But that does not make it right to kill civilians as colleteral damage while hitting terrorist. No colleteral damage is acceptable in civil areas.
Turkey has been fight against Kurdish racist terrorists. But when we make operation on north iraq and south east fo Turkey all eurpean countries start to talk. Even the conflict of Turkish fight with terror happened in country side not in cities. But same European countries does not say any damn thing about Israel bombs which hit to a school in the center of the city. Because if Israel cabinet wants votes in the next election that's not a good way to join a war to take public support. Goerge W. Bush also done that and start a war with terrorism to been elected the second time. If you have an enemy outside it is easy to take public support and win the elections.
In the other hand this undiplomatic action of Turkish prime minister is the same way. It is just for local elections of Turkey on april. Turkish is a secular country but the cabinet has been using relegious things to keep public motivated. Last summer they ve been warned by court of fundamental law to keep secular politics. So they just need a external islamic power to keep public motivated. And Israel gives them the chnace with attacks.
Turkish prime minister is using external religious problems to keep the support of the public on newxt elections. Otherwise he should have showed bigger reaction to USA while they were killing and torturing millions of Iraq people.
Anyway i know that anti semitic messages has been giving in turkey but most of the country is not that bad and don't have anti semitic feelings. Anti semitic ones are radical islamic people and there are same kinds all over the world. Most of the people are just angry to Israel about attacks.
And many western people think that Turkish people arabic people as brothers but it is not. Most of the Turkish people does not like arabic people much. So the ones who does not like arabs are more than the ones who does not jews i guess.
It is not a racist problem. It is humanity tragedy because of democratic elections.
best regards...
