Scholarships for the children of unsung heroes
There are many unsung heroes in our cities. Though they play a very important role in our society and contribute to all our city lives, their services are usually taken for granted and they go unrecognized. Be it an auto-rickshaw dri
ver, a police constable, porter at the railway station or a tailor, their contributions go unnoticed.

toward recognizing their services, ISKCON Bangalore, Sri Radha Krishna Mandir had announced i
ts annual scholarships for their children, to pursue higher education. Today on Saturday, July 30, 2011, ISKCON held a scholarship distribution ceremony and awarded a total sum of 20 Lakh (2 Million) rupees to about 620 students based on their merit and financial needs. The scholarships were distributed to students of 10th & 12th standard to help in their education.
Sri Srinivasalu Reddy, a prominent businessman of the city was the chief patron of this program. Sri Madhu Pandit Dasa, President, ISKCON Bangalore inaugurated the ceremony by giving away the scholarships to top 20 students. Speaking at the occasion he called upon all students “to take up Spiritual education also very seriously, as spiritual knowledge gives one proper direction to mold one’s life.”
Sri Chanchalapathi Dasa, Vice President, ISKCON Bangalore and Sri Tiru Dasa, Public Relations Director also graced the occasion. Smt. Dr Latha Narayan, Ekalavya Awardee, President of Lions Club also participated in the occasion.
