School Bus Crash in Sydney Kills One, Injures 40

A school bus crash in Sydney with two cars involved has left one person dead and 40 injured on Friday morning.

It was just after 8am on Heathcote Road that the vehicles collided.

"It appears the driver of [one of the cars] is deceased and a female passenger is trapped with injuries," a police spokeswoman said.

Most children suffered injures and about 30 to 40 were still trapped on the bus waiting to be rescued. Heathcote Road is now closed in both directions between Princes Highway and New Illawarra Road.
