A Scientific Revolution Emerges Against Darwin’s Evolution

In 2001 a consortium of scientists expressed their doubts in Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. In a very uncharacteristic journalistic move PBS actually produced a presentation that portrayed the story. At the time there were 100 scientists that signed for the event to become acknowledged for their disenchantment with a theory that has been used to characterize the gradual development of all species of animals and flora, how they adapted to their environment, and acquired the skills of survival with superior skills at competing against other species.

Survival Of The Fittest and Natural Selection are also concepts akin to Darwinian interpretation of evolutionary development as a paradigm for scientific explanation of species survival strategies. This theory is the quintessential methodology of tracing the ancestry of primitive organisms to their more advanced and more recently evolved descendents of the present. Yet, after 100 years of Darwinism introduced in our public schools and used as the foundational theorem that further interpretation of natural processes are interpreted by.

However, there are scientists dedicated, knowledgeable, and ahead of the curve when it comes to the general mentality of the public at large, who have serious doubts with the Theory of Evolution. They do not feel that the theory adequately explains important aspects of animal and plant life development. Even more importantly they do not want to be arbitrarily labeled as creationists just because they disagree with Evolution. They know that progressives, liberals, leftists, will use the rejection of Darwinism as a way to politically intimidate those who look to change a major paradigm that has created a deep division between supporters and detractors.

A highly charged debate between atheists and Christians has raged as well as other religions that view man as being created by a central intelligence, a creator, a universal mind that has intelligently designed the universe. Where as Christian scientists freely expressed their awe for God’s creations and their scientific observations only reinforced their reverence for the beauty of nature, recent hostility and intolerance being focused against those expressing their Christian world view have come under fire. As a result, many have become reticent about expressing their heartfelt belief in the one God who originated the universe that we exist within.

Even though opinion polls that give us a sampling of who supports Evolution and how many people actually find fault with it, in 2001 there was a good deal of intimidation towards those who no longer sided with Evolution. Zogby international polling put public supporters at 80% as opposed to those who question the validity of Darwinism. Yet, there was a rapidly growing dissent against Evolution as the universally accepted theory of nature. So, the general consensus about Evolution was bound to change as time went on.

Mankind is fixated on model oriented eras of enlightenment. There have been many instructive and pivotal points in human history that have strongly influenced civilization and academic endeavor. In doing so the population becomes extremely polarized in generally accepted mass beliefs that weave the general comprehension of a society into a unifying force. Great awakenings and even artistic epochs are ignited among a society when a new concept gains general acceptance and begins to mold the public’s general perception.

We could characterize influential periods in human conscious development and the progression of mankind when new paradigms emerge. The Dark Ages when man labored under the oppression of feudalism marks a paradigm. The Renaissance when mankind graduated into an exciting artistic and scientific awakening while human rights began to emerge on the radar of ancient government, marks another emergence of a new paradigm. Once man learned the earth was not flat, that the universe most assuredly did not revolve around the earth, the discoveries that revealed these falsehoods allowed mankind to move forward to new horizons.

Now Darwin’s Theory of Evolution faces obsolescence as new and intriguing views of cosmology, physics, and man’s faith in a deity all come into play. Man’s comprehension of Cosmic awareness will inevitably influence our perceptions and the way man defines reality and the world around him. New paradigms that represent the latest scientific discoveries will inevitably emerge as they are presently coming to light. Inevitably there will be those who will react angrily as their generally accepted view of reality is redefined. It will inevitably turn into a defining political argument that divides ideologies and people as well.

In the latest book, “The Grand Design” co-written with Stephen Hawking and Leonard Mlodinow the creation of the universe and the state of nature as we know it will be redefined. Yet, another paradigm is being unfurled and destined to dominate generally accepted thinking in academic circles. The contents of this book are destined to rock conventional wisdom.
