Little Cumbrae, a small island in North Ayrshire, Scotland, is being converted into a yoga camp by Hindu yogis, and will now be known as Peace Island.

India's most popular lifestyle guru Baba (Swami) Ramdev has blessed the purchase and conversion of the island, and was present on Peace Island today. The island was officially bought by a Indian-Scottish couple, Sam and Sunita Poddar, but will be used by Patanjali Yog Peeth, which defines itself as an "institution for scientific research and treatment in Yog, Spiritualism and Ayurved".

The Telegraph’s report on the peace island described Ramdev as “India’s most controversial television lifestyle gurus, who claims homosexuality can be ‘cured’ by yoga.”
The island property inaugurated today with a ‘hawan’, a Hindu fire ritual, will be administered by the Patanjali Yogpeeth (UK) Trust.
At the sell-out camps he holds around the world, crowds arrive hoping for cures to diseases like multiple sclerosis and many will stand up to declare how he has changed their lives.

This is what happens when you live right next to England. Same as the weather.

Homosexuality is not a disease. Grow up! The idea sounds good, but the people running it don't seem to have a clue, just money.

I do not disagree with you here Sara, however, it is a genetic mutation and some European Scientist believe to be able to reverse it if test for the Gene would be conducted systematically in every child before puberty.

France is working on this gene manipulation in order to allow Children with the gene to conduct a normal life as they put it.

The choice would be up to the parents and not the child to undergo the treatment once established and some in politics want to make it a law once proven to be successful.

Alas, we live in the age of Genetics...

Yes and there is probably a gene that likes classical music, or a vegetarian gene, etc.... There is even a gene that makes some people Black. That doesn't make it a disease. What happened to diversity? Does being from a different gene pool make it a disease?

Exactly, however, in a Democratic world the large majority of the Human population is still strongly opposed to any derivative of the norm.

Maybe due to a lack of some thing or fear. Some of the best educated people are anti Gay, There for education can not be blamed for this stand.

I believe we are moving closer with every passing day to a bee hives sort of society.

We may try to regulate and control every thing down the road, even the colour of your eyes.

Officially, all in the interest of peace, uniformity and productivity...

Control is the real reason though.

How about a cure for stupidity? Then we could grind it up and crop-dust the entire planet... (I'd elbow my way to the front of the line for that product btw, and I'd have it spooned, heated and slammed before Keith Richards could say 'Jumpin Jack Flash.')
