Sean Flynn, Son of Erroll Flynn Disappeared in Cambodia in 1970

Sean Flynn, photographer and son of Hollywood legend Erroll Flynn, disappeared in Cambodia in 1970, in the midst of the Cambodian War. David MacMillan and Keith Rotheram found the remains after speaking to a resident of Phka Dong, who claimed to have witnessed the execution of a man matching Sean Flynn's description.

Sean Flynn would have been one of nearly 40 journalists killed during the Khmer Rouge's takeover of Cambodia.

US authorities have taken custody of the remains for forensic testing, after being urged to do so by photographer Tim Page, a friend of Sean Flynn. Page expressed dismay over the haphazard nature of the excavation, since the area is a potential mass grave.

Based on photos seen by the Post, the remains include clothes, teeth and bone fragments. MacMillan told the Daily Mail that an unnamed expert had concluded that the teeth suggested dental work performed in the US during the middle of the 20th century.

“It was not a forensic dig; they used an excavator and uncovered a full set of remains, which they removed from the site and have been taciturn about handing in,” Page said, adding that it was premature to tout the remains as Flynn’s when numerous other foreigners are thought to have been killed nearby.
