Sean Penn skeptical of Wyclef Jean

Shortly after Wyclef Jean announced his bid for the Haitian presidency, Sean Penn said during a CNN interview, "This is somebody who's going to receive an enormous amount of support from the United States, and I have to say I'm very suspicious of it, simply because he, as an ambassador at large, has been virtually silent. For those of us in Haiti, he has been a non-presence."

Penn said that he himself has been spending much of the last six months in Haiti, and has not seen Jean at all. Wyclef Jean responded that Penn's comments were irresponsible and speculative.

"That's very unprofessional. I look forward to having a fas a fas with him.''

Pras Not On Board

Pras, born Prakazrel Michel, Wyclef Jean's cousin and former Fugees bandmate, said that he is supporting Michel Martelly (also a musician) for Haiti's top job:

It's official the people are asking for it I'm here in the belly of Haiti I endorse Michel Martelly as the next president of Haiti!!!!
