Security around tiananmen square
Over the past several months, western and some Chinese media have been talking about high security and how this would be a problem. I think BOCOG has done a poor job at assuring people that this would not be an issue, moving around the venue would happen smoothly. I am particularly disappointed in the disinformation of the western media who seem to concentrate on Segway Swat team, and ground to air missile defense system around Beijing. Disinformation has not helped promote the great work Beijing has done in preparation for these games.. Yes, security is a high priority for any international event/host, but as you can see in this video but nothing to fuss over. "live from Beijing, Scales from Tiananmen Square."

Good work, but I recommend against flagging your own stuff... it looks kinda weird. If it's good, people will see it, especially if it's regarding an event as big as this.

Robert Scales, when free photos are solicited from Flickr, the people who contribute them are invited to write a caption.

If you do not like the photos that wind up on your stories, you may simply use the "moderate" tab on your story to delete what you don't like. As a Super Editor, I would have supposed that you know both these things.

Attacking someone who's just given a photo, for free, to NP, that it can also use for later re-sale, isn't, IMHO, either very "cool" personally or something that will empower NP in getting lots of free stuff.

Beijing PopFestival 2007. Three Colums Fans, one Colum of scared security guys.. While Public Enemy (The "band's name" in beijing was "PE" because the designers' were not allowed to write their full name.. ;) was shouting "Public Enemy Number One", "Fight The Power", and "It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back" was a quite nice matching songs for the great p.r.of china).. Incredible! Supposed to be the last BeijingPopFestival..

I did not have an issue with the pictures, just the fact that they related to an event that happens several months before my post and completely non related.

as for picture selections, as a SE on the site, i am just getting used to the tools..

I apologies if my comment where offensive or seemed like an attack, it was not my intent!
