PRESS CONFERENCE WITH SENATOR BARACK OBAMA (D-IL), CANDIDATE FOR DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL NOMINATION
SUBJECTS: WITHDRAWING MEMBERSHIP FROM TRINITY UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST; DNC RULES AND BYLAWS COMMITTEE DECISION

ABERDEEN, SOUTH DAKOTA
8:00 P.M. EDT, SATURDAY, MAY 31, 2008

SEN. OBAMA: Well, it is good to see you guys. We've got two things to talk about, although you may have more.

The first is that a letter that I had sent to Trinity United Church of Christ, my home church for some time now, was apparently released to CNN, and so, you know, I think it's important that everybody get a chance to ask me some questions about this. Michelle and I told Reverend Otis Moss that we were withdrawing as members of Trinity.

CHICAGO — Reverberations from the Sunday sermon of a Roman Catholic priest who mocked Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton at Senator Barack Obama’s home church here continued to spread Friday, after the priest offered an apology and the archbishop of Chicago gave him a public reprimand for “partisan campaigning.”

In a guest appearance at Trinity United Church of Christ, the priest, the Rev. Michael Pfleger, who resigned about two weeks ago from an unpaid position on the Obama campaign’s Catholic advisory council, delivered a tirade against Mrs. Clinton that included fake tears, a high-pitched voice and top-of-the-lungs screaming. He also gave a racially tinged critique of so-called “white entitlement,” of which he says Mrs. Clinton is guilty.

I smell something burning well I am not capable of commenting on the headline issue, because neither i am from old school or new school but any personal opinion should go through the private message route.I agree on that.

I think the same for Improvement tool, if a private message is sent before putting in improvement tool that will help us poor souls who are not journalist at the top of the hierarchy

I went ahead and changed the title for Rhonda one of our better NP contributers

I think most of what happened could have gone through the private message route.  I have been told that taking my story down and reposting does not allow for transparency.  My thing is Talk about the story, your views, your own analysis of the subject.  Flaming on the site is described as not dealing with the post but with the poster.

I make alot of spelling errors.  I will get an occasional email that says, "Al, its write a story not Right a story"  I appreciate that kind of help.  NP is Place where Citizen Journalist  (a term I don't Like)  to encourage one another, Share thoughts and opinons.

I am not sure what is with those two (not mentioned) but I really think it is more of a political issue rather than a personal one.  I try to give both parties and candidates but I was a bit hard on Hillary Clinton.  My readership on my blogs are about 60 Conservative and 40 Liberal.  The reason for that is because when I write about Hillary Clinton, I dont start off like many conservative blogs (e.g. the stand by your man liberal carptbagger from new york)  I tell the story an not put labels on folks.  People know what these people are.  I would be very biased to do so.

Yeah some of my titles use old school teasers and maybe I should let it go.  The headline can be a lot of fun.  I really got hammered from those two on my McCainanite to fill his Harem with woman in his first term.  It was a story that shared a comment that McCain made, he vowed to make sure that his cabnet had a large number of woman in his first term.  He was obviously going after the Clinton voters and I had a little fun with the title.  So there it is.  I really appreciate your postings.
