Sudha Krishna, thanks for getting this story out so quickly. It will now show up on the home page for four hours. If new developments justify it, I'll renew this flag for another cycle.

That is a traumatic event and I surely hope they are not seriously injured.

Our sister publication in Reno reports that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's wife and daughter were injured in a car crash. The Reno Gazette-Journal says the injuries "don't appear to be life-threatening." There are no other details.
The paper quotes spokesman Jon Summers as saying:
Reid met his wife in high school, and they were married in 1959. Lana is the couple's only daughter. They have four sons, including Rory Reid, who is running for governor of Nevada

Very serious injuries that will take a long time from which to recover.

Really hope the best for them. But a broken back from a rear-ender in stop and go traffic? That must've been one heckuva momentum-laden tractor-trailer. Mind you, I've seen a few Honda accidents here in Japan and in one (a Civic) the car was torn into 2 pieces across the middle when it side-windered into a light pole. Mind you, lucky they weren't in a Prius. A more feeble tin can I've never seen.
ACP missed his calling as an intelligence officer. He's one quick cowboy.
