Sept. 11: 9/11 Anniversary
It has been brought to mind that this coming Sept. 11: 9/11 anniversary will fall on the same day that the original terrorist attack took place on America eleven years ago.
With that in mind there is only seven days left before September 11th gets here and that gives people plenty of time to make plans to participate in a 9/11 ceremony somewhere in the city or community they live near.
September 11, 2001 brings back many painful memories such as our security measures at airports allowed 19 terrorist that were members of al-Qaeda board four jet airliner passenger planes.
The breach in airport security allowed these hijackers to fly American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 into the two World Trade Center Towers in New York thus causing the two towers to fall making a plié of rubble.
The terrorist hijacker’s terror plot continued with American Airlines Flight 77 hitting the Pentagon in Arlington Virginia, and a foiled plot for United Airlines Flight 93 to ram into the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington D.C.
However passengers of United Airlines Flight 93 battled the terrorist onboard thus causing the plane to end up crashing into the ground in a field near Shanksville Pennsylvania.
The body count grew close to 3000 that were accounted for and because of the carnage caused by the explosions and impact of the jet airliners many people went unaccounted for because their bodies were ripped apart by the blasts.
Many civilians, firefighters, police, and emergency workers lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and are remembered and remind Americans of the false security we were depending on to keep us safe.
