A seven-year-old boy stole a car in Plain City, Utah on Sunday morning instead of going to church. The child was seen to have recklessly driven through a stop sign.
Two deputies chased the boy behind the wheel and tried to apprehend him unsuccessfully. The boy drove the car home where he was confronted by his father, and admitted to stealing the car. He claimed it was because he did not want to go to church.
The boy is too young to prosecute and no citations were issued, although police did urge the father to make his car keys more inaccessible to children.

Pretending you were too ill not to go to church would have covered it, not running away in a car.
Thanks for the story.

Initially one would probably be quite concerned to hear this news. But this may not be shocking for other as some actually do remember cases of young kids going for a joyride in the car. Every so often, a headline makes you stop and look – like "7 year old steals car!" In Plain City, Utah (it should be Plain State), a 7 year old boy stole his fathers' Dodge Intrepid to skip church. He managed to find a parking lot and turn around and head home. The further comedy is that he began a police chase, wherein officers tried to stop the tyke – but he eluded them. After the news of 7 year old steals car broke, it's good to know the kid won't need no fax payday loans for bail.
