While the world focused on the Obama Inauguration, several key members of the Obama cabinet were also sworn in today.

This afternoon, seven of President Obama's cabinet nominees won unanimous approval in the Senate: winning unanimous approval: Interior Secretary Ken Salazar; Energy Secretary Steven Chu; Education Secretary Arne Duncan; Peter Orszag, director of the Office of Management and Budget; Eric Shinseki, the secretary of Veterans' Affairs; and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. Perhaps the most high-profile nominee was former Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano, who was named Homeland Security Secretary.

Several other key nominees have yet to be approved, including Secretary-of-State nominee Hillary Clinton. It is expected that all of Obama's nominees will eventually be confirmed.
