Shaniya Davis' funeral was held on Sunday November 22, 2009. More than 2,000 joined the public funeral to remember Shaniya Davis. Shaniya Davis' father Bradley Lockhart, standing beside her casket, said, "Shaniya, Daddy love you honey, and I know you're gonna be waiting for me... I'll see you when I get there."

Lockhart urged the 1,500 crowded into Manna Church and another 500 watching the service from an adjacent building to help the community's needy, according to press reports.

Shaniya Davis was only 5-years-old when she was found dead in the woods after missing for days. Mario Andrette McNeill was arrested and charged, along with Shaniya's mother, Antionette Nicole Davis. Shaniya had only lived with her mother for 3 weeks.
