13-year-old questioned over barber shop murder
A 13-year-old boy is being questioned after he was arrested on suspicion of the murder of a teenager who was gunned down as he went for a haircut in Sheffield. Tarek Chaiboub, 17, was shot dead a week ago either inside or just outside a barber's shop in the Burngreave area.
Police have confirmed that a 13-year-old boy was among six people arrested on Thursday in connection with death in raids involving armed police in the city.
The other people being questioned are two 17-year-old boys, a 19-year-old man, a 22-year-old man and a woman in her 20s.
The males were arrested in the Petre Street area of the city and the woman was detained in the Sheffield Lane Top area.
Senior officers again repeated their belief Tarek's murder could have been gang-related. And they urged youngsters in the city not to get involved.
Witnesses differ about whether Tarek, who was nicknamed GT, was shot inside Frenchies hairdresser's in Spital Street or whether he was outside when the gun was fired.
The teenager collapsed on the street and died despite frantic attempts to save him by members of the public.
A handgun was found near his body and detectives are still trying to establish whether Tarek had been carrying that weapon. Officers have confirmed they still have not recovered the murder weapon.
A mass of floral tributes and messages of condolences cover the side of the pavement where Tarek collapsed.

Christina 123, I like this story. It's good stuff, is time the Burngreave community stand up against crime, the community is having a very bad reputation in Sheffield, unless parents and community members address the issue it is only going to grow worse with time.
