Shock Jocks Suspended in Alaska Over Racial Insult

Woody and Wilcox of radio station KBFX in Anchorage Alaska were suspended by the station after insulting Alaska Native Women. It was during their programme dedicated to what constitutes an Alaska Native in which Woody and Wilcox stated that “A Real Alaskan would make Love to the Yukon River and Urinate on an Alaska Native”. While KBFX apologized and announced that Woody and Wilcox will undergo sensitivity training, the State Government of Alaska and the FCC are looking into the matter which has been seen as far worse than the comments by Don Imus.

It's always "sensitivity training" (or rehab if you're an A-lister)... perhaps unemployment would be the best remedy here.

If one is unable to gauge the fallout from the whole Imus thing, then one is not qualified for radio work.

AlvarezGalloso, thanks for this story. Unfortunately, it's going to take more than a suspension and some cursory 'sensitivity training' to repair this outrageous racism.

Jarett Martineau: Thanks for your comments. I agree with you and jordan on this issue. I would second the suggestion by Jordan about the Unemployment Line.
