Shooting in DC from cars including an AK47
Take it easy, it is the nation’s capital. The Obama’s were out of town and it is apparently just a dispute between drivers of cars going through the President’s neighborhood including the busiest parts of downtown DC. It happened at 9:04 PM according to police.
The ridiculousness includes people being armed with AK47s in the city, or anywhere else for that matter.

Shots have been reported being fired near the White House. Police have apparently shut down the streets and there is a police chase near the White House. Constitution Avenue has been shut down between 15th and 17th.So far, there is no other information as to what is going on. Information via NBC’s Twitter feed.
Reports are continuing to come in regarding the shots that were fired near the White House. To begin with, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are not in Washington tonight, but in California. It does not appear that the incident is related to the President, but the Washington Post is reporting that the area where the shots were fired is south of the Executive Mansion, and possibly between Ellipse and the Washington Monument. No one appears to have been injured and no one is in custody, according to WTOP Radio reporter Mark Segraves.
The Huffington Post is now reporting that “A law enforcement source says that shots were fired at 9:04 p.m. at Constitution Ave. and 16th St., near the ellipse. The Secret Service saw it and put out a description of two vehicles. One was abandoned and recovered at 23rd and Constitution. An AK-47 was recovered. Witnesses also reported seeing someone running across the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge. The source does not believe it was directed at the White House — he speculated that it was probably an issue between the two vehicles.””
