Shooting in Little Egg Harbor Leaves 3 Dead: Craig Muller Gunman
Update: 3:32 pm PT
Craig Mueller, 45, has been identified as the gunman who shot and killed his brother Bryan Mueller, 52, from a second floor window of the home they shared at the Tall Timbers Apartments on Monday. Craig Mueller also shot and killed Cara Ellis, their 21-year-old neighbor, when she came to Bryan Mueller's aid.
Four hours after this shooting, police found Craig Mueller dead on the floor of a second-floor room in the home with a Colt .223 long-arm rifle near his body. It is believed that he committed suicide.
Neighbors reported hearing gunfire, and local roads were closed and the schools were on lockdown while police searched for the gunman and investigated the scene.
Any motive for the shooting is not known at this time, and authorities say they do not know of any disagreement between them. Neither of the brothers knew Cara Ellis.

After a Shooting in Little Egg Harbor Monday Morning, the Suspect Remains at Large
A shooting at Tall Timbers condo development on Monday morning has left a man and a woman dead and police are still searching for an elderly man who is believed to be a suspect in the case according to the Asbury Park Press.
Due to the shooting, traffic is being diverted away from Route 9 and cars are being used to block off through streets to the west of Radio Road. This road has been closed from Oak Lane to Mathistown Road and all entrances to the Tall Timbers area are closed according to the APP.
The Little Egg Harbor School District is also in the 'first phase' of a lockdown as the gunman is still considered to be at large. The first phase means a 'shelter in place initiative' and no one is allowed in or out of the building unless they go past the security resource officer. Similar procedures are being put in place in Pinelands Regional School District.
This will likely remain to be the case until the suspected gunman is found.
An Asbury Park Press photographer on the scene reported hearing more gunshots around 1:15 p.m. near a wooded area in the vicinity of the crime scene.
Police are also warning residents to stay in their homes after the shooting happened outside.
Chet Thornberry, who lives along Pine Valley Road, said a police officer ordered him inside his home.
"The officer pointed to an area, and said 'there's somebody over there shooting," Thornberry.
Thornberry says he heard the shots - nearly two dozen of them.
