First, I suggested that shots fired at the Pentagon might be an inside job, someone with vendetta. Now that we know two locations were fired upon 1) the Pentagon and 2) the Marine Corps museum, one might observe the possibility that the perpetrator could be a Marine.

If the weapon rounds match, that would surely be an indication. Do not these facilities have sensors in the area?

“Shots fired at Pentagon, Marine Corps museum

05:55 AM Oct 21, 2010

WASHINGTON - The American state of Virginia was hit by two separate shootings over three days - in the Pentagon and the National Museum of the Marine Corps. Investigators were trying to determine whether there was a connection between the two incidents.

Shots were fired at the Pentagon early on Tuesday, a spokesman said, causing no injuries and minor damage to the building. Fragments of two bullets were found embedded in two windows - one on the third floor and the other on the fourth.

Officials said the bullets had shattered, but did not penetrate, the windows. The windows were part of offices that are being renovated and they were unoccupied at the time.

Mr Steven Calvery, director of the civilian Pentagon Force Protection Agency, said he did not know what kind of weapon was used but that it was probably a high-velocity rifle.

On Sunday, shots were fired at the museum, about 50km south of the Pentagon. That shooting is also believed to have been carried out with a rifle and possibly during early morning hours, when no one was inside.

Several glass panels were hit but none of the museum's artefacts were damaged.

The authorities said they did not yet have any suspects. AGENCIES”
