Simi Valley Shooting Domestic Violence? 5 Women Shot, 1 Killed
Five women have been shot at, and one of the victims has been killed, in a disturbing case of a shooting at a dental office in Simi Valley, California. The Simi Valley shooting occured at 10:38 am local time and it is believed that the tragedy may be a case of domestic violence.
Police have not identified the shooter or the one woman who was killed but have confirmed that all the victims were female. Three of the women shot remain in critical condition. There is speculation that the man was the disgruntled husband of one of the women shot.
The shooter walked in to the Family Dental Care center at Sinaloa Road and East Los Angeles Avenue in Simi Valley. He opened fire almost immediately after entering the Family Dental Care center and then fled to a near by automotive shop where he had to be coaxed out by police.
The man was arrested an hour after the shootings. Three of the injured women are being treated at Simi Valley Hospital, the local medical facility. A fourth woman has such serious injuries she had to be transferred to Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center.
One gunshot victim was flown by helicopter to Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, said hospital spokeswoman Kris Carraway Bowman. The 40-year-old woman was listed in critical condition with gunshot wounds to her chest and upper right arm, as well as other wounds to her abdomen, Carraway-Bowman said. She was scheduled to go into surgery this afternoon.

He was booked into custody, but police have not released the man's name.
Early, unconfirmed reports said that the man might have been a disgruntled husband of a female employee at the dental office. Police haven't said who the dead victim was.

I know of a man who worked in an office of mostly women. They talked trash about their husbands so much, he thought that one of them hated her husband, but she said she didn't. Man, it makes a guy mad if he works his tail off and tries really hard and gets a bunch of gripey gossip behind his back. I hope that wasn't happening in this case. Husbands and wives need to talk supportively and not gossip behind each others back. Maybe these ladies in critical will all be okay. I also know that there are lots of nut-jobs out there too, both men and women, so I'm not saying this is all okay by any means, and some guys can be really abusive and possessive.

My condolances to the family of the deceased. It is so sad that someone would carry out their hatred so far. Abuse is about power and control, often when an abuser realizes they are loosing power over a victim they may attempt to murder them, even after they have left the relationship.
Often a victim may have felt as though they have left the relationship but the abuser still will think of the victim as their own.
