That, sir - is hypocrisy!

Now I don't have much time for the teabagging fraternity, a real bunch of, mainly, racist head-bangers whose sole purpose is ... well, will we ever know?

It's one of those scratch your head movements. One that seems to be doing all the right things, speaking up for the people and all that jazz - then you begin to look beneath the very thin veneer and you see them for what they are, unless that is, you support them.

On Jan. 11, FreedomWorks — the corporate-funded, Washington-based community organizers behind the astroturfing of the Tea Bagger movement — put up a petition demanding that Democrats allow the media to cover health-care reform negotiation.

On that same day, organizers of next month’s Tea Party convention announced that, except for a small group of hand-picked propagandists, the media will not be allowed to cover their meeting

So why is it OK for them to hide behind closed doors yet they call for their real political opponents not?

It is a simple question - one that is not hard to ask at all. One that should be just as easy to answer. Yet we will see nought but backing for their action and condemnation for others who are of the political arch who disagree with them.

I can see in years to come the word tea-bagger akin with the kool aid drinker.

It is par for the course that there is a media blackout of the keynote speech by Sarah Palin on Saturday night, Feb. 6. But this event is sounding less like a grass-rootsy political affair by the minute. In addition to succumbing to the right wing’s irresistible impulse for secrecy and jackboot control of the media, tickets for the event in its fancy venue are priced for the elite at nearly $600 per person.

That is one chunk of change for your "average" grass-rooter. Where will they get that sort of money? Surely they have been taxed so highly, bought all the weapons and ammunition before there guns are taken away, been foreclosed on.

Could it actually be that they are so blatant about their political indoctrination of what they see as the steadfast electorate that they do not care any more? That they can laugh in the face of those foolish to believe them as they take their real hard-earned cash with impunity?

After so many years of Republican scaremongering I can genuinely see why quite a few are scared to death. What I do see happening is that those who are the 'real Joe's' - those who do feel there is something, somewhere to answer - those are the ones who will be turned away from political debate the most. That will leave the rest of the wailing banshees to carry on in their forlorn comedic manner for the rest of us to watch, shake our heads and giggle at the antics of what we see as a bunch of lunatics who do not know their arse from their elbow.

I am awaiting the youtube video - the one where the hidden mic hears the true words of the tea-bagger leaders speaking about the urchins whom follow. Yet, foolishly, even cast-iron evidence of the dupe will not be believed - their crested idols will still be loved. A cult in any other name.

Unfortunately every political party and movement has its share of dupes and useful idiots.

However I have no doubt that there are honest and sincere people in both political parties and in organizations such as the Tea Party movement and various progressive organizations. I also think that if the honest and sincere were able to get together, out from under the yoke of their ideological leaders, they'd find that they have a lot more in common with one another than they're  led to believe.

For any political party or political movement in the U.S. to claim or imply that it's on the moral high ground or has the best answers is absurd. Americans need to start looking beyond the same old  failed ideologies and try something new.

One thing that can be said about the Tea Party movement in its favor, is that at least many of its adherents are identifying American politicians and both major political parties for what they are: namely lying hypocrites that are more concerned with their own self interests than they are with the future of their country.

Unfortunately every political party and movement has its share of dupes and useful idiots.

That is an understatement. It seems that the Tea Party movement has a disproportionate share of em'. From Talking Points Memo:
A Florida lawyer who registered the "Tea Party" as an official political party doesn't want to share the name that's become synonymous with the fledgling grassroots conservative movement. Fred O'Neal is pressuring activists in the state to rechristen their local Tea Party groups -- and in doing so, he's become the latest figure to be charged with co-opting the movement for personal gain.

"why is it OK for them to hide behind closed doors yet they call for their real political opponents not?"1. Congress is not my political opponent. They are my representatives, regardless of party. They are my surrogate, whether I agree with them or not.2. Because money from the sweat of my labor is not removed from my person by the barrel of a gun to fund the Tea Party. It IS taken from my person by the barrel of a gun to fun my congressional representatives.3. Because the machinations and decisions made at the Tea Party convention will not affect my life and finances one iota, nor the lives and finances of my children.4. Because the Constitution of the United States of America guarantees a right to privacy and there are no laws that make exceptions for individuals gathered at a private meeting, whereas there ARE exceptions (Sunshine Laws) for just about every government meeting from Neighborhood Associations all the way to non-classified White House briefings.5. Because I don't get to sit in on the board meetings of SEIU, even though the fruits of THOSE meetings affect my life often more deviously than that of my government officials.Yaknow, I really despair at ad hominem attacks, but srsly... Are you retarded?Fine. I'm a tea bagger. You, sir, are a douche bagger. I can switch political allegiances, but you'll always be a moron.
