Six Palestinians Killed in Separate Acts of Violence Near Gaza Strip

Two separate violent incidents has left six Palestinians dead in the last 24 hours.

A lone young man was killed while protesting at the Karna crossing between Israel and the Gaza Strip. At least 17 others were injured when Israeli troops fired at their demonstration.

They were protesting the continued blockage of commercial goods and aid from entering the Gaza Strip, and where Palestininan exporters could potentially send their goods to Israel.

Early Friday morning along the Gaza Strip, air attacks killed five Palestinians, including three members of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing. The fighters had allegedly fired an anti-tank missile at troops.

One Palestinian has been killed and 17 more injured after Israeli troops fired on a demonstration at the Karni crossing between Israel and the Gaza Strip. An estimated 2,000 Palestinians were protesting on Thursday against the Israeli blockade of the territory.

The shooting occurred within a few hours of a lorry-bomb attack near the Erez crossing, that left the assailant dead but caused no injuries, according to Israeli public radio.

Five Palestinians have been killed during Israeli assaults on the Gaza Strip, according to medical workers. Three members of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing, were killed in an air raid called in support of Israeli ground operations near the city of Rafah, members of the Palestinian emergency services said.

The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades identified the men as Ibrahim Madi, 20, Mohammed Abu Rezik, 23, and Mohammed Abu Awad, 23.
