We had a pretty wild evening last night in Toronto, we were surprised we didn't lose power. Lots of wind and blowing snow/freezing rain that pretty much turned into hail at one point.
Nasty stuff, I'd hate to be out travelling today!
Ontario Provincial Police are warning drivers to adjust to road conditions, but say they expect to deal with anywhere from 400 to 800 accidents throughout the province because of the storm.
A number of school districts have cancelled classes for the day.
A late winter storm on Wednesday dropped hail, freezing rain and several inches of snow on Canada's capital and nearby cities, slowing traffic and forcing flight cancellations.
The environment ministry said five to 20 centimeters (two to eight inches) of snow were expected in Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal by the end of the day.
The latest snowstorm to wallop southern and eastern Ontario was inconveniencing hundreds of travellers early Wednesday.
Winter storm and freezing rain warnings issued by Environment Canada remained in effect from Windsor, Ont., east into Quebec.
Windsor, Ont., for example, had received around 17 centimetres of snow by 4 a.m. ET with more snow and freezing rain expected before the storm system was expected to taper off by the afternoon.
