Yesterday the weather was tremendous in Venice: snowstorm and high water created problems for the venetians and big entertainment for the tourists. The famous St. Mark Square and other notorious spots in Venice were hit by wind, snow and high water. In St. Mark's the promoting Istanbul Tourism billboard was ripped off by the fast bora wind. The billboard was there to say Istanbul is the hottest cultural spot in Europe. Such a campaing looked quite mocking in Venice. Even nature revolted.

Meanwhile, Canada's winter is the driest on record.  Weird, that.

I know Mary, it is strange.

Everyone got the opposite of what they normally get! =:-D

We (the UK) had our coldest winter for 30 years. I though it was great, I love snow.

Is snow a pretty rare occurrence in Venice? Great photos!

Yes, it doesn't happen so often. This winter has been a particular one. Good to me that I love snowy and winter landscape (see more on my flickr page http://www.flickr.com/photos/castellaro )
