Society, Like A Sinkhole

The poor, the destitute, the hungry, how many times have we all heard the downtrodden's plight? The gauntlet has been thrown, the challenge made, and the dye has been cased. Yet, no one has come forth to pickup that gauntlet and lay claim to the challenge of rescuing America. With all the rhetoric today between those political parties continue to be oblivious to the solutions that lay in waiting that would save the day for generations of Americans. The have not's have now surpassed the haves by more than 10,000 to 1. The poor, the destitute have become so oppressed it is very unlikely and almost impossible that our society will ever regain the balance that is needed in order for the United States to survive as a great nation. This nation continues to charter a course of self destruction by all the legislation, political posturing and the way our political process has evolved.

It has been said that societies that have only a two tier class distinction, one wealthy, the other dirt poor with no middle ground that society is doomed to fall. The great experiment of America's republic where the words of Benjamin Franklin are coming back to haunt us when asked "What kind of government have you given us?" Franklin's reply, "A Republic if you can keep it." No truer words were ever spoken. A republic if you can keep it. Apparently we can't. It has slowly ebbed away. Bit by bit an erosion almost complete by what has become an elitist government. Elected officials who continue to ignore the general populations realm of reality for the past 30 years. The government of the people and by the people has morphed into a Frankenstein type monster terrorizing millions who now have no choice but to succumb the the will and power of so few.

In an age where technological marvels abound, where science has opened up doors of opportunity only to be violently shut due to the greed of those so few mankind is poised to be thrown into a cataclysm of darkness from which there is no return. Today, the United States has reached that fork in the road where the powers that be have denied millions access to that avenue of opportunity and prosperity only to be corralled into that other path of desolation and despair. This has become the new reality for millions the world over. The chances of detouring onto that road of opportunity are slim to none for millions more.

In this year of 2012 that fork in the road is already at hand. Do we follow like sheep down that path of despair or do we pick up that gauntlet and lay claim to the challenge to implement the solutions that will once again bring the balance of our society back? We had better hope so. Apathy is as destructive as any weapon to the demise of societies. The power wielded by so few in controlling our society today only to garnish more power, control and wealth has shrouded over like a cloak of deception and deceit covering up their masked ideologies laying waste to the set principals that our country was founded upon.

We have seen it all before as we are seeing it now in every political add that is awash on every TV screen. Instead of targeting solutions that would stabilize the balance in society the unapproachable demure of our elected officials continues to widen societies gap in America today. A Republic if we can keep it; I guess not.
