After nearly two months of intense negotiation, the Saudi supertanker seized by Somali pirates was released after the gang was paid a $3-million ransom.

Mohamed Said, a negotiator with the pirates, told the Associated Press by telephone that the ship has been released and was travelling to "safe waters." Reuters reported that the buccaneers secured a $3-million ransom.
The capture of the Sirius Star and its $100 million cargo of crude in November drew attention to a surge in piracy off Somalia that has brought global navies rushing to protect one of the world's most important shipping lanes.
This is the incredible moment a $3million ransom was dropped onto hijacked supertanker Sirius Star to secure the release of hostages - including two Britons.
