Somalian girl raped - then stoned to death for adultery
Imagine.
You are thirteen, and the world is at your feet. You live in a small Somalian village, where everyone knows each other. Your parents were born here, and so were your grand parents. You silently dream of being a woman, but actually you are not really ready to cross that bridge yet. Then someone crosses your path and does the most cruel, despicable thing to you that can every happen to a woman. Or anyone as a matter of fact.
Just imagine.
If things are not worse enough, you are accused and convicted of adultery - which according to Sharia law is punishable with death. Simply because a journalist reported that you were no longer a child, but 23 years old. He based this on physical appearance.
So, on the day the judge ordered for you to die, you are buried until the shoulders. A thousand of people have flocked to the place of execution, and are staring at you - as if they were watching a bad episode of Bold and the Beautiful. Among them, women, grand mothers, babies and girls your age. People that should have stood up for you.
Only imagine.
You see how a truckload of stones is being brought into the stadium to be used in the stoning. Slowly, people are picking them up and clenching them into their fists. You plead, you beg, you cry, your pray. No one is hearing you.
Imagine.
Then a flash of pain. And another one. The pain is excruciating. Another rocks hits your head. All becomes numb. You hear the spectators cheering and shouting, but you do not care. Because soon the pain will be over.
Imagine.
Well, honestly - I am having difficulties imagining what Aisha Ibrahim Duhulow went through. This kind of cruelty simply goes way beyond my imagination.
