Some one put me in my place - Yep! I am an interfering nobody
I some times send comedy related emails, concerning the British way of life or British related problems and receive a few comedy emails back from my British friends. Now as in the USA and elsewhere in the world depression is on a high peek. people are frighten to lose their jobs or there house and of course the worst is long term relationships can be torn asunder, because of the stress and the worries over money.
But here I am, very worried about others and the problem of the meltdown has effected me only a little, my only worry really is, that my country goes bankrupt and cant afford to pay my military pensions. At present my problems lay with a decreased currency rate problem, that if any thing has only culled the amount I can save, or, use to help people here in the Philippines to get a good education.
However the following email made me not only smile and laugh, it brought instant reality to the fact: My intent to put sanity of logic thinking, of the need to stop hype, non positive thinking, concerning the fear seen on the internet. Of those citizen journalist and the people, that constantly show their worries and fears daily.
Really is pointless, as I have no power to change the world, or, too change many opinions, who do I really think I am?
The email, please enjoy....
We are in DEEP trouble...
The population of this country is approximately 60 million.
32 million are retired.
That leaves 28 million to do the work.
There are 17 million in school or at Universities.
Which leaves 11 million to do the work.
Of this there are 8 million employed by the UK government.
Leaving 3 million to do the work.
1.2 million are in the armed forces preoccupied with killing Osama Bin-Laden, and fighting in Afghanistan , etc .
Which leaves 1.8 million to do the work.
Take from that total the 0.8 million people who work for Local County Councils.
And that leaves 1 million to do the work.
At any given time there are 488,000 people in hospitals or claiming Invalidity Benefit.
Leaving 512,000 to do the work.
Now, there are 511,998 people in prisons. T
hat leaves just two people to do the work.
You and me. And there you are,
Sitting on your arse, At your computer, reading jokes.
Is it any wonder that we are in such a mess and that I am stressed out through trying to cope on my own?
