The Sorry State of Affairs in America [Obama and Mc Cain Supporters Insulting Each Other] [A Personal Reflection]

The night of October 15, 2008 is going to be the big night in which the Republican Candidate John Mc Cain and Democratic Candidate Barack Obama will be debating. The people who are suffering from fanaticism with both parties will be watching the debate. I do not know if I have the stomach to watch it.

I may probably watch the CONCACAF World Cup Game between the USA and Trinidad and Tobago. Many people wander why? Many people have wandered why I would waste my vote in voting Libertarian or even Green? Many in the Republican and Democratic Party have even told me to "shut up" or "leave the country".

While reading about the Canadian Elections of 2008, I read about the low turnout. The same apathy exists in the USA with a group of people saying "Why can we not get rid of the two party system?" I have decided to answer these questions even though the Republicans and the Democrats have decided to label me a "rare" person. Before doing so, I have a question for Republicans and Democrats.

1. If a vote for Libertarians or Greens are a wasted vote, why do the Democrats and Republicans unite to exclude alternative parties from the debates and the political process with discriminatory laws such as ballot access?

2.Why did the Secretary of State of the State of Ohio nullify 57,000 signatures from the Libertarian Party during the 2004 Election Year?

3.Why did the Republican Governor of Illinois and the Republican and Democratic Candidate for Governor of Ohio refuse to debate the Greens and Libertarians?

4.Why did the Mc Cain and Obama Camps mistreat verbally over the phone and even physically the Greens and Libertarians when they wanted their candidates to participate in the Presidential Debates?

5. What right does the Republicans and Democrats have to talk about freedom and democracy when they do not practice it at home?

The Democrats and Republicans that I have seen have removed the political advertisements of their opponents. The Democrats and Republicans have defaced the political posters of their opponents. The Democrats and Republicans have accused each other of wanting to turn the United States of America into a Police State. The Democrats and Republicans have accused each other of forming paramilitary forces.

In Doral, Florida, the Democrats and Republicans have been confronting each other physically. In one restaurant, the owner decided that the television set will have sports instead of politics. In one hospital, there have been rumours of an African American Nurse discriminating against White Anglo Saxon Nurses [rumours that have to be proven]. The polarization is too much.

It is this hatred that has produced a cry in my heart which states that a vote for the Republicans and Democrats is a wasted vote for hatred, racism, class warfare, a continuation of a never ending war, family division, hypocrisy, and more interference from a state that just did not do anything during Hurricane Katrina.

I am voting out of my conviction for an opening of a political process that has excluded other parties. The fact that George Washington in his Farewell Address warned about the formation of political parties and a two party system is the reason that I am saying NO to the Democrats and Republicans.

I personally think that the Presidential Debates are seriously flawed and that the elections that will come upon the American Nation is a fraud.  For the Republicans and Democrats who have told me to "shut up" or "leave the country", it would not resolve the situation. I know of people who are not waiting and have left the United States of America permanently but it would have to be a desperate measure. I also know of people who want their states and regions to secede from the USA. For the Republicans and Democrats, maybe your candidates may "win" this election but the election of your candidates [with certain exceptions] would count as illegitimate.

If I can still do so, I will continue to campaign for a United States of America that is free and open. If the USA will not hear my plea for peace and sanity, I will take my plea to the world so that the world could monitor what is happening in America. I call on the world [repeatedly] to monitor the activities of the Democratic and Republican Party so that we do not have a dictatorship and so that a "million voices can flow".

AlvarezGalloso, I like this story. It's good stuff. I appreciate your honest presentation. I just feel that what happens in Vegas should stay in Vegas. If you are not willing to fight for your rights in the US and   take it to the "world" for oversight it appears as sour grapes and not being serious about your struggle. Lets keep our struggles for open, free and honest elections at home. It may take some time but at least the fight is done on home turf where it really counts.

Thank you for your honest opinion. I am taking my struggle for open elections in the USA but it is better at times for the world to find out what is going on. After all, it is the world that has to pay the consequences of the actions of a governing elite that have committed fraud in past elections.
