Special Operations Intelligence Sergeant killed in Afghanistan
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. Sgt. Nicholas A. Robertson, 27, of Old Town, Maine, died April 3 at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany, of wounds suffered April 2 while conducting dismounted combat operations in the Zahn Khan District, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C.
This was his second deployment to Afghanistan. Robertson enlisted on May 26, 2005 in Portland, Maine following graduation from the University of Maine where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He attended Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. and Advanced Individual Training as a Cryptologic Linguist at Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas. Sergeant Robertson graduated from United States Army Airborne School at Fort Benning, Ga. on Jan. 19, 2006. He reported to 3rd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Bragg, N.C. on March 4, 2006 and was assigned to Support Operations Team Alpha (SOT A) 3301 as a Senior Voice Interceptor.

Thanks for posting this, I worked with Nick and he was a close friend. All of his brothers here at Ft. Bragg are taking this really hard. This is the second SOT-A to be killed in combat out of 3rd Special Forces Group. We are all a tight knit group here.
One more thing and I don't mean to split hairs, but SOT-A stands for (Special Operations Team-Alpha).
