Spin Masters Spin the Spin Master Penn's Departure

Politisite reported on NowPublic and it's Blogs that Mark Penn had stepped down as the Clinton Campaign's Chief Strategist.

Mark Penn, Chief Strategist of Clinton Campaign, Steps Aside

Sunday, April 6, 2008 18:49 ET

Mark Penn, the architect of much of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential campaign, has agreed to step aside as chief strategist in the wake of revelations that he lobbied on behalf of a trade treaty with Colombia that Mrs. Clinton opposes.

Politisite Note: The Colombian government fired him on April 5, 2008. The say politics makes for stange beddfellows, Penn’s firm was hired by Union Carbide Chemical Corporation due to the Bhopal (India) disaster that killed 2,000 people and injured thousands more.

Politisite has learned that he is still heavily involved in Clinton's Campaign by performing political polling and advise.  So the news about his resignation was spin not news.  Most readers will hear the news that Penn has left the campaign and consider the NAFTA problem solved. Penn has simply changed rolls.

Penn made his usual phone call to campaign workers.

Penn: Out, Then In

Demoted Hillary Clinton strategist Mark Penn may no longer have the coveted title of chief strategist, but he remains a key member of the campaign's senior staff. Indeed, it is not clear precisely what Mr. Penn's demotion entails, other than a public rebuke.

Mr. Penn took part on the campaign's morning message call this morning, as usual.

This afternoon, he is also scheduled to be on a call with Clinton and other aides to begin to prepare for Saturday's presidential debate in Philadelphia.

Mr. Penn "is still going to be very much involved," a senior campaign official said.

Honestly, Politisite took the press release from the Clinton camp as gospel.  Wrong answer!  We should have fact checked the press release with campaign and  Penn's office.  Politisite was spun by the spinmasters on the spinmasters departure!  Politisite is banging his fool head on the table.
