Sri Lanka Government allows UN and their vehicles in largest refugee camp.

Since the possible threat from LTTE terrorists diminishes with the passage of time, Government of Sri Lanaka reportedly started allowing Motor vehicles of UN and other aid agencies and giving more access to the WDPs affected by the recently concluded war.
Government says that it is in full control of the situation and it does not foresee any serious problem allowing access to the camps.

The Sri Lanka government had banned the use of motor vehicles by U.N. and other aid agencies at the camp, citing concerns that some rebels might try to escape in or under the vehicles. U.N. officials had complained that the restrictions were crippling aid distribution at the camp.

"An interim measure has been agreed whereby aid agency vehicles including trucks can now travel in and out of Manik Farm zones, only not in convoy and without agency flags," U.N. spokeswoman Marie Okabe told reporters. She added that the military had announced it was leaving the camps and would hand over control to civilian authorities. U.N. officials had voiced concern about the military nature of Manik Farm and other refugee camps. The camps are supposed to be transitional humanitarian facilities for some 300,000 people left homeless during the final months of the war.

There are over 40 "refugee camps" of 300,000 Tamils civilians and around 80,000 of them are children. Due to what they have gone through in last 3 months they need immediate attention of getting food, shelter, education and rebuilding into some kind of normalcy into their lives.

There are many aid agencies willing to pitch in and help, but the Sri Lankan government does not want the world to see what is going on these camps.

Tamils don't need the Sri Lankan government to build model camps to show off to the world with the children forced to waving the Sri Lankan Flag, the Tamils need help in rebuilding their lives into receiving jobs, education, and infrastructures in the regions they used to live, but the Sri Lankan government has constrained them into the detention camps while building Sinhalese settlements and infrastructures to bring Sinhalese into these areas while the Tamils are held in as prisoners.

Sri Lanka government do need Sri Lankan tamils - no matter what outsiders who claim to be tamils say. So far the outsiders managed to bring the Sri Lankan tamils only to destruction and misery by creating and funding LTTE. That kind of destruction cannot be undone within a week or a month. The alleged "Sinhalese resettlement" is a lie. Sri Lanka government is doing development work within the country because that is the duty and responsibility of the government. That is the right thing to do.

Yes, there are many aid agencies willing to pitch in and allowing UN first is a right step to a right direction.

As for flags, no one in the right mind will ever think that Sri Lankan citizen are willing to wave the LTTE flag anymore. They will wave Sri Lankan flag.

Second thing is that LTTE flags  are no more in circulation and production.

We should not give in to these westerners who think that they can bully small nations like us. Where were they when suicide bombers were killing over thousands of people, where were these people when LTTE killed bus loads of Buddhist priests and unarmed navy personnel, where were they when innocent villagers were shot, hacked to death and when children were beheaded in front of their parents. Didn't these people have the so called basic human right to live peacefully?.Is it only the Tamil people who have human rights? What did was only to ensure that the ordinary civilians got their Human right to live peacefully without having to think whether they will return in one piece at the end of the day after work. So the so called international community which has got on to the high horse to judge us have no right to do that now. They did not help us in any way materially or verbally to defeat the terrorists. U.K. and U.S. only saw reality when a 9/11 took place . But they have still not learnt a lesson. I cannot understand why the British government is dancing to the tune of the LTTE supporters.
