Fighting erupts North of Mallavi: 2 LTTE bodies recovered

Pitched fighting was reported between troops and LTTE since yesterday (Sep1), at general area Thernakandal, North of Mallavi in the Mullaittivu battlefront, according to military reports.

The troops of the 57 Division have stepped-up intense attacks at LTTE heavy artillery batteries and strongpoints in the area, military said adding that terrorists have sustained serious damages, though actual figure remained to be verified at the moment.

LTTE is yet to comment on its fatalities as hundreds of terrorists are reported fleeing the area despite constant orders given by it leadership to resist the advancing Army battalions.
