Sri Lanka Battle Progress-Kilinochchi fall soon by Sri Lanka Army news

Sri Lanka Defence Secretary  Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Army Commander Lt. General Sarath Fonseka visited Jaffna,Palaly Camp today morning 9th December 2008.Meanwhile heavy fight erupted Adampan,KUMULAMUNAI and Killaly FDL.No casuality figures updated yet.

Sri Lanka Wanni Battle front is still burning as never before while Sri Lankan troops are stepping close to the LTTTE’s Administrative Capital Kilinochchi. Heavy fighting erupted throughout last week and still going on. Nevertheless Lankan Army continues their Wanni Humanitarian Mission with heavy Ltte resistance.

59 Division.

According to the latest military report received from the battle Field, Troops of 59 Division advancing towards LTTE's main military Capital in Mullaittivu. Troops have so far marched 3 km along Alampil – Mullaittivu road and 7 Km behind the target area. It is believed that troops will capture Mullaittivu Town before Kilinochchi Town. are Another platoon is closing in on the terrorist stronghold in Nadundkerni.  Also they continued consolidating captured areas.

Task Force 3.

Sri Lanka Army Task Force 3 (TF 3) Troops have so far advanced about 7 km along the A-34 (Mankualam -Mullaittivu) Road and now are engaged with LTTE in east of Olmadu and in the Panikkankulam thick forest.

 

57 Division.

57 Division troops continuing their push at the  border of Kilinochchi Town at Adampan South, Puthumurippukulam, North of Kokkuvil and Terumurikandy.They are 5 Km behind the Kilinochchi.

 

58 Division.

Sri Lanka Army 58 Division troops are engaged with enemies in Nevil at the Northern Kilinochchi battlefront along B-69 Road.

 

53 and 55 Divisions.

Sri Lanka Army 53 and 55 Divisions are strengthen the Nagarkovil, Muhamalai and Kilaly forward Defence Lines FDLs. Troops already captured their 1st FDL line in November and try to break the 2nd Line.

Also it is reported that a new offensive division, Task force -4 (TF 4)  will join in Wanni  Operation in the coming week.
