Sri Lanka- Civilian explains what happened(translation available)
Plight of the civilians in the North, (and the Eastern Province before that) at the hands of LTTE has been no secret during the past few decades. Tamil leaders who spoke on behalf of these civilians were brutally murdered by the LTTE. Neutral Tamil politicians like V. Anandasangaree who always stand up for these civilians are insisting that the War against LTTE terror must be carried out through to the end, if any liberation for the Tamil people in North and East is to be expected.
However, without listening to these genuine Tamil leaders living in Sri lanka who look after the welfare of these civilians, some western media have opted to show the story from LTTE's point of view. Why? That is a big question.
Resettling the internally displaced civilians in the High Security Zone (HSZ) in the Jaffna Peninsula has been expedited with around thousand civilians awaiting to return to their original places of dwelling with the mine clearing in the HSZ which is to be completed shortly, the Chairman of the High Security Zone Committee and Jaffna High Court Judge, R.T. Vicknaraja said.
He told the Sunday Observer that the Supreme Court ordered the HSZ committee to work on the modalities of clearing the bunds and reactivating the premier educational institutions, Mahajana and the Union Colleges in Tellipalai and restructuring the Base hospital in Tellipalai which are situated within the High Security Zone of Jaffna.
Following the Supreme Court order the HSZ Committee headed by the Jaffna High Court Judge will meet this week to look into the modalities of expediting the resettlement process and reactivating the schools and the Tellipalai hospital which are situated within the HSZ.
The Jaffna HSZ committee also comprises the Jaffna Security Forces Commander Major General Mendaka Samarasinghe and the Government Agent K. Ganesh.
Chairman Vicknaraja elaborating further on the resettlement process said that the Security Forces in Jaffna were very cooperative in carrying out the resettlement process. "The de-mining is currently in progress in the HSZ areas and around 600 civilians have been permitted to settle back in their original places of dwelling. Screening of civilians to be permitted to settle back in the HSZ is being carried out by the Government Agent.
Thousand more are awaiting to be resettled in the HSZ once the mine clearing is completed," he said. Judicial Service Commission has initiated measures to reactivate devastated court houses in Mallakam,Chavakachcheri, Point Pedro and Kayts which are currently functioning in private buildings with limited facilities, he further said.
The Jaffna Courts buildings which were in bad shape are now functioning in new buildings with their renovations completed two years ago.
A new thirty member committee comprising serving judges, retired judges and senior attorneys from Jaffna will soon begin the work of reactivating the devastated court houses in the Peninsula due to war in the past, Vicknaraja said.

Translation of the first video dialog>
Civilian: They come and stay among us.
Brigadier Shavendra Silva: Oh so they come and stay with you all?
C: Yes, So what happens? When a mine explodes… we civilians get killed for sure.
SS: So don’t the people tell them they want to leave?
C: Of Course.
SS: But they won’t let you all go?
C: They take us by force also. For work also… to make bunkers…
SS: To make bunkers?
C: Yes. To dig the ditches… lay the timber… lay mud and soil… we have to do those things. If we don’t go for that there is separate punishment for that.
SS: What kind of punishment?
C: They will take us and put us somewhere where there is fighting going on in the front, and ask us to work there. By force. So if he gets shot and killed there then that is it.
C: If we are here… then they stay here in their tents. (shows imaginary positions on the ground.)
SS: Oh.. so they put up tents alongside you all?
C: Yes yes. The ones in the tents are for throwing bombs and if army comes to shoot at army… all the others stay with us civilians.
SS: Ah so the others stay with you all? Now…… the A.G.A. is there… Government sends lots of food supplies to the civilians. Does the A.G.A. give you all those food?
C: When government send us food…. If 3 parts are meant for one person, they take 2 parts, and give us 1 part. For one person.
SS: hmmm that is how it’s done. That means you all don’t get what the government sends you?
C: err..
SS: You all only get a little bit from what government sends you?
C: Yes. Very little.
SS: The rest is taken by LTTE?
C: Yes LTTE takes the rest. When we were coming now, they came and stopped us. And said “army is there. Are you trying to get killed? Don’t go anywhere, go back. Go back to the village”. We said we can’t go back. They said they will throw bombs. We said it doesn’t matter even if we get killed, we are going somehow. And we came. And then it is the girls who threw the bombs, and 1 person got wounded.
[wounded guy speaks in Tamil]
C: When we were leaving there they kept guard, but we were determined to leave, and we left. And throwing of the bomb caused this.
C: But, after this, if we are told to go there… whenever the time comes when we get freedom from them, we will only go that day. We won’t go until then. Until then…… we will stay put with the army.

Sri Lankan Army forced them to talk like this.

You know what? You are becoming a BIG JOKE on this site.
What did you do with William Baptist? He's missing in action.
Furthermore,
I don't care abt what you think. I put it up for the benefit of anyone else who would want to know what the guy is saying.

He he...
"If you put a gun on my head and ask me to whatever you want I will have to do there is no other choice. "
We understand your problem, Japanagent. If "someone" put a gun on your head, then you will do whatever you want, It is beyond all imagination what are you doing now as the gun on your head belongs to ltte terrorist leader Pirapaharan
My condolences, brother. After all we agents have to live a such a terrible, thankless life always... :(

PTK hospital, legitimate military target - Gotabhaya[TamilNet, Tuesday, 03 February 2009, 05:14 GMT]
Gotabhaya Rajapaksa When asked why the Government has warned journalists not to use videos of the humanitarian situation in Vanni, Gotabaya says: " We have to take certain measures to them [reporters] from the country. That had happened previously; that had happened in other countries. It is not a new thing. If you are a threat to the national security, the Government has to take action."
"No hospital should operate outside the Safety Zone...everything beyond the safety is a legitimate target," Sri Lanka's Defense Secretary, Gotabaya Rajapakse tells the Skynews, admitting to the culpability of Sri Lanka Army (SLA) shelling Puthukkudiyiruppu hospital. In another interview with the BBC, a clearly irate Rajapakse ridicules Lasantha Wickrematunge as an editor of a "tabloid," and queries reporter Chris Morris as to why the media is interested in "one man" when there are thousands of killings and murders."
"Do you think broadcasting footage from TamilNet is a threat to national security?" the reporter asks.
"Of course. Because that is wrong," Gotabaya replies.
In the interview with BBC's Chris Morris, Gotabaya derides late Lasantha and says that any dissent or criticism [of the Government] during the time of war is treason."
Gotabaya Rajapakse is a citizen of United States. He worked as a Computer Systems UNIX Administrator at the Loyola Law School in Los Angeles where he owns property. He returned to Sri Lanka in 2005 to assist in the presidential campaign of his brother Mahinda Rajapaksa, and was appointed as the Defense Secretary.

Thanks !!!!!!
extremely relevant to what the Tamil guy is saying.

Nice... well done, you're pretty good at copying and pasting...
I don't know if your pea-brain saw the video from a Sri Lankan un-manned surveillance craft that showed the Puthukkudiyiruppu hospital very much intact.
Go lick Prabhakaran's asshole now.

Thanks for that, I read it. I just got a little carried away expressing my anger at the ignorance of people like Japagent. Every Sri Lankan or anyone who has ever expressed any interest in the conflict in Sri Lanka knows that Tamilnet is the LTTE's clandestine reporting website that has consistently infiltrated the Tamil people's heads with false propoganda. Using their reports to prove a point is like feeding marijuana to cows. Its going to mess with their heads.
