Wanni Operation (English Version) 11 th April 2009

Looks like this new year bring peace to the Sri Lankan's. It is a general belief that what happens in the new year, repeats throughout the year. Sri Lanaka on Sunday declared 48 hour cease-fire to allow the trapped civilians in the war front on the occasion of Tamil and Sinhala new year.

Happy new year to all Sri Lankans. May this new year bring you all peace and happiness.

Suba Aluth Avurudu and Puthandru Nal  vazhthukkal..!

COLOMBO:  Sri Lanka's president on Sunday ordered government troops to halt their offensive against cornered Tamil rebels over the two-day Sinhala and Tamil New Year that starts on Monday.

Mahinda Rajapakse's office said in a statement that the move would allow thousands of Tamil civilians trapped in the fighting to celebrate the New Year.

"With this objective in view, His Excellency has directed the armed forces of the state to restrict their operations during the New Year to those of a defensive nature," the statement said.

It reiterated a call to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) to lay down arms and surrender to security forces who have pushed the guerrillas into a narrow strip of coastal jungle in the island's northeast.

This is not a civil war!

It a war against terrorism! The marority civilians of Sri Lanka on both sides of the fence are completly fed up with the terrorism.

True. Not only this war/conflict or whatever name we give, the brute majority of people don't want to take part or even see killing and destruction.

Q: How does the Tamil diaspora react to the situation in the North and the East?

A:Most of them do not see the wood for the trees. The propaganda of the LTTE abroad is so powerful. The diaspora is suffering from a syndrome.

Systematically trapping 100,000 Tamils civilians into the so called "safety zones" to bomb them and shell them sounds like war on terrorism to you?!!

Mahinda Rajapakse's office said in a statement that the move would allow thousands of Tamil civilians trapped in the fighting to celebrate the New Year.

The trapped Tamil civilians don't have food, or shelter. The latest rain on their tents have flooded the area. The civilians have no way to getting somewhere safer or better conditions.

That sounds like one hell of a New Year Party to me!!!

What good is the fake ceasefire if you are not going to allow foreign aid agencies, aid workers, some aid (at least some food to these people) or at least journalists into the area to report on what is going on?!!

By the CANNIBALISTIC Tamil Diasporan standards this may amount to nothing, but this is how the things work in the civilized world.

I do not name names under the normal circumstances. However, cant help doing the very thing here. Editors may choose to remove this comment or edit the same. However, what needs be said, needs be said.

TAMIYA, SENTHIL5000, TRANROY and the clan, you have made sure that the world at large sees you as the LOW LIFE BOTTOM FEEDERS that you are.

How convenient is it for you, to forget the fact that it is the LTTE terrorists (aptly supported by you and your fellow cannibals) who are holding the civilians in the NFZ in the first place? If the LTTE sets them free, there is no necessity for this kind of situation which saves your clan from the trouble of strutting your nakedness in the global arena.

Like you all the LTTE is just an overrated bunch of sissies who so brazenly have opted to hide behind the very people they wowed to protect  not so long ago. Most of the terrorist leaders who boasted of the impregnability of the LTTE and the resultant bloodbaths have ben sent six feet under, and the remaining few are scheduled to follow their footsteps soon.

Your Goebbelsian tactic of repeating a lie thousand times, until it becomes the truth is not going to work this last time. It is indeed sad that so many had to sacrifice their lives to bring this conflict to an end.

However, sooner the LTTE ends, better it will be for the SL Tamils and the Sri Lankans at large. If your brains do not have the capacity to comprehend that, you certainly are BRAINDEAD as someone pointed out just a few comments ago.

How convenient is it for you, to forget the fact that it is the Tamils civilians are asked to go the "safety zones" by the government and bomb them and shell them mercilessly ?

Why you never never never bother to question the media ban in Sri Lanka? Why you never bother to answer our questions about 14 jouranlists killed by the Sri Lankan Government and 4 Tamil MPs killed by the Sri Lankan Government? Are they "terrorists" too?

Why did the Sri Lankan Government warned foregin media to "play by the government's rules or face serious consequences", and boot out many media out from Sri Lanka?

If the Sri Lankan Government can give access to free media and aid agencies to the war zones and refugee areas,  "the low bottom feeders" in this NP who have family, job and lots of thing to take care for their own lives don't have to counter the Sri Lankan Government's genocide propaganda of the sudharaka, Isreli.agent, Hiranya Malwata and the clan right?!

The Sri Lankan Government should give access to journalists, media and aids, aid agencies, and humanitarian workers to war torn area and the people trapped in it. The Sri Lankan Government can tell the world these are terrorists too, and they deserve to die too since they are Tamils, but people like us who have seen the Sri Lankan Government's killings, torture and marginalization face to face know the real situation these Tamils civilians are in.

Excellent, Tamiya. Very good progress....!

Again less words from me.

Ask LTTE to surrender.Forget about April Eezham.

Nothing more, nothing less. Then there is no more problem to discuss.

“How convenient is it for you, to forget the fact that it is the Tamils civilians are asked to go the "safety zones" by the government and bomb them and shell them mercilessly?”

Once again you overlook that it is your LTTE that tagged these unfortunate civilians along with them. If the government wants to get rid of them, can be done within the space of an hour without the trouble of all these ceasefires and sundry. The GoSL has reiterated its respect towards human life and commitment to protect the same.

“Why you never never never bother to question the media ban in Sri Lanka? Why you never bother to answer our questions about 14 jouranlists killed by the Sri Lankan Government and 4 Tamil MPs killed by the Sri Lankan Government? Are they "terrorists" too?”

If one is to answer every unsubstantiated claim of each LTTE propagandist like you, it would be more than a full time job. Unlike you lot who GET PAID for your Goebbelsian endeavor, others actually have to engage in a scheme called EMPLOYMENT to feed their dependents. Contrary to your way of life, BOTTOM FEEDING is not an option in the civilized world.

“Why did the Sri Lankan Government warned foregin media to "play by the government's rules or face serious consequences", and boot out many media out from Sri Lanka?”

Who cares, so be it.

“If the Sri Lankan Government can give access to free media and aid agencies to the war zones and refugee areas,  "the low bottom feeders" in this NP who have family, job and lots of thing to take care for their own lives don't have to counter the Sri Lankan Government's genocide propaganda of the sudharaka, Isreli.agent, Hiranya Malwata and the clan right?!”

PROUD to be identified in a brethren of likeminded brothers and sisters who are unified by a noble cause.

“The Sri Lankan Government should give access to journalists, media and aids, aid agencies, and humanitarian workers to war torn area and the people trapped in it. The Sri Lankan Government can tell the world these are terrorists too, and they deserve to die too since they are Tamils, but people like us who have seen the Sri Lankan Government's killings, torture and marginalization face to face know the real situation these Tamils civilians are in.”

Repeat, repeat, repeat……..

Since I am not a paid writer like you, Tamiya, I use less words.

Systematically trapping 100,000 Tamils civilians into the so called "Eezham " to bomb them and shell them sounds like "freedom fight" to you?!!

"What good is the fake ceasefire if you are not going to allow foreign aid agencies, aid workers, some aid (at least some food to these people) or at least journalists into the area to report on what is going on?!!"

No good if LTTE does not allow the trapped civilians to go out and continue keeping them as human shield. Once they are out of the premise of LTTE, they will get food, shelter and medical facilities. Inform LTTE that even their "veerans" whoever got injured or ill can go out too. They will be treated as PoWs.

Now, repeat things....!

You can do the war against Tamils for more than 2 years continuously. But ceasefire can be done only for 2 days???/!!!.... Sri lankan Goverment never see the tamils as Sri lankans.

I think the ceasefire also just came out to give holidays for Sinhala soldiers.

3
israeli.agent

Tranroy,

Two days are more than enough for the civilians to reach the government and get help. Only question is if your LTTE will allow them or not.

That question remains for two more days.

What are you talking about Agent..."civilians to reach the government" ...You don't want them to live.... alive.... This is why ...I tell....you......

You are always thinking ...how to kill tamil civilians... UN, USA, UK & Human right group tells about Srilankan Genocide against Tamils. But you are talking about "civilians to reach the government"

This is really a joke!

Who does believe Sri Lankan government? It is a terror Government.

You cried for cease fire now you have got it and dont comment "I think the ceasefire also just came out to give holidays for sinhala Soldiers"  like that. Better to say permanent Ceasefire. By the way Holidays for Soldiers means also Holidays for Tamil terrorists group ltte too.

News Image 42174 - Sri Lankan Soldiers - New Year Days

Village folks, who have gone to the town for their earnings, return home during the Sinhala & Tamil New Year season to meet their relatives and to share the happiness. But the soldiers appearing in this picture do not have the opportunity to do so. The reason is that the happiness of the whole country relies on them. We met these heroes at the security zone in front of the no war zone at Pudumathalan who have scarified not only their holidays, happiness but also the valuable lives merely because of us. They bathe during the short interval in the war front from a well dug through a boat sunk into the sandy beach.

What more to describe the sacrifice made by our heros.

LTTE is the rebel force that has been fighting to preserve the rights and freedom of Tamils in Sri Lanka since 1983.

The Sri Lankan Government is carrying out a war on Tamils under the false pretense of "rooting out the rebel force". Over 100, 000 Tamils civilians are systematically trapped by the Sri Lankan Government to be killed in the so called "safety zones" either by bombing or pure starvation or lack of medicines.

Sri Lankan Government has prohibited any media to cover these war zone disasters. Defense.lk is allowed to spread their propaganda as they see fit.

The following link may give you background:

Sri Lanka: Snapshot of Sri Lankan Conflict for last 60 years.

The Sri Lankan government is carrying out a war on Tamils civilians in the name of "rooting out the reble force - LTTE". The Tamils civilians were asked to go the "safety zones" by the Sri Lankan Government, and the Sri Lankan Army is bombing and shelling the trapped civilians mercilessly, and even have used chemical weapons on civilians.

The war on Tamils civilians is carried out under heavy media ban. No foreign media, aid agencies or aid workers are allowed to go to war zones or talk to these people. No food or medicines are allowed to the people. Starvation is a reality to these trapped 100,000 Tamils civilians.

The Sri Lankan Government has declared 48 hours "ceasefire" on these people to celebrate the Sinhalese New Year and leaving these Tamils in flooded "safety zones" with no food, and no shelter, so that the Sri Lankan Army can return on the third day to continue their annihilation of these civilians.

Sorry, Sara.

What Tamiya said was just a practical joke. She is a professional so it is ok. Anyway if you get time, please see this link.

I am quoting SATP (South Asia Terrorism Portal) that lists the details of all the terrorists outfits and their profiles.

By no stretch of imagination LTTE is a "rebel force " or "freedom fighters". LTTEs are terrorists. That is what they do and that is what they are.

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), arguably the most lethal and well organised terrorist group in the world, began its armed campaign in Sri Lanka for a separate Tamil homeland in 1983. Under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, 2002 (POTA) in India, the LTTE is a proscribed organisation. On October 4, 2003, the United States re-designated the LTTE as a Foreign Terrorist Organisation (FTO) pursuant to Section 219 of the US Immigration and Nationality Act. The LTTE has been proscribed, designated or banned as a terrorist group by a number of governments - India, Malaysia, USA, Canada, UK, Australia - countries where the LTTE has significant terrorist infrastructure for disseminating propaganda, raising funds, procuring and shipping supplies to support their terrorist campaign in Sri Lanka.

Formation

The LTTE was formed on May 5, 1976, under the leadership of Velupillai Prabhakaran, and has emerged as perhaps the most lethal, well organised and disciplined terrorist force in the world. Headquartered in the Wanni region, Prabhakaran has established an extensive network of checkpoints and informants to keep track of any outsiders who enter the group's area of control.

Terrorism in Sri Lanka began in 1970 with the formation of a militant student body called the "Tamil Students Movement" to protest government plans to limit access of Tamil students to universities. Very soon this movement went underground and turned to overt terrorist activities. Violence escalated in Jaffna from 1972 onwards, beginning with the publication of a new constitution seen by the Tamil United Liberation Front (TULF) as anti-Tamil. The year 1972 saw the formation of two Tamil terrorist groups – the Tamil New Tigers (TNT) and Tamil Eelam Liberation Organization (TELO), splinter groups of the original Tamil Students Movement. In July 1983, countrywide riots and clashes between Sinhalese and Tamils left thousands of Tamils dead and several hundred thousand as refugees. Large number of Government forces were deployed in the north and east provinces. This period marks the beginning of the LTTE guerrilla campaign against the Sri Lankan Government.

The Sri lanka government in my view, has issued this ceasefire so that its soldiers can celebrate the Sinhala and Tamil New Year Tamiya. What I found to be ironic is that one reason President Rajapakse called for this ceasefire was so that the Tamil civilians can celebrate the New Year. How does he expect the civilians trapped in the war zone to celebrate New Year when they have no food, shelter, etc. as you've mentioned? I hope he thinks real hard about that when he and his family goes to the temple and eats the food that he and his family serve on their plates to celebrate the New Year.

2
sathyajith

Suranee

this ceasefire is not meant for celebrating New year but to make the way easy for civilians to come out of the warzone and this will be a REBIRTH for them if they manage to escape from Tigers.

And this is also a Oportunity for thoes who cried for Humanitarian Ceasefire to act and suply the reliefs to these civilians. I hope that they are ready for that.

2
sudharaka

In any war there are no victors, only sufferers.

The war in Sri Lanka is waged by a TAMIL MINORITY (both local and Diaspora) who are in pursuit of a fantasy of a mono-ethnic homeland of theirs (Eelam/Eezham.) due to their FALSE SENSE of SUPERIORITY over the other races. Nothing more, noting less. The simple fact that they refuse to integrate with other communities speaks volumes for their line of thought.

If the PRO EELAM RACIST LOUDPOSTS on NP does not bear enough testament to that, there is nothing more conclusive.

If the Sinhalese are all out to wipe the Tamils in Sri Lanka why go into all this trouble of humanitarian operations, safe zones, ceasefires and sundry. The remaining terrorists can be wiped out in one hour flat by carpet bombing the area they hide-in, without any regard for the civilian life trapped in the middle.

4
sathyajith

Now the time has come to serve the relief for civilians which they have deserve (more than deserve).

Mr. Israeli.agent:

Why are you keep on deleting the real situation photos of the Tamils civilians and living conditions ?

What are you trying to hide by posting a new year celebrations ?

What does this 48 hour ceasefire means to the 100,00 Tamils civilians trapped in the 'safety zone'?

or is this just for the Sri Lankan Army to take break from killing Tamils civilians?

Your news seems more on propaganda than anything else here.

Have a conscious.

Celebrating a Sinhalese New Year on the deaths of 5000 Tamils civilians and over 1000 Tamils children deaths. The preferred color for this new year for Sinhalese extremists must be red, and if it is actual blood from a Tamil - that is even better.

As far as the Tamils concerned, they don't have a New Year this time, not even the Tamils Diaspora living abroad. 3 Hunger Strike is going on in UK, Canada and Australia to ask for immediate cease fire to let food and other aids reach the Tamils civilians. Many are worried over the fate of the trapped civilians and their access to food / aid.

2
israeli.agent

Easy questions first.

"What are you trying to hide by posting a new year celebrations ?"

Because that is the only way it happens if you display life sized photos. It hides the one who holds the photo. This is the first new year that has any meaning , coming after 30 years of LTTE terror. Finally there is hope that this cancer goes away from Sri Lanka. Indeed this is an occasion to celebrate for Sri Lankans.

"What does this 48 hour ceasefire means to the 100,00 Tamils civilians trapped in the safety zone?"

Life with peace, happiness and dignity.

"or is this just for the Sri Lankan Army to take break from killing Tamils civilians?"

Stop watching LTTE supplied movies. Watch Tom and Jerry.

Now , answering the toughest question....

"Why are you keep on deleting the real situation photos of the Tamils civilians and living conditions ?"

Why am I deleting photos? Summa..! Just for fun. Like tit for tat - and you know why I am doing this.

The reality of these 100, 000 Tamils civlians are facing starvation, bombing & shelling and flooding. The ceasefire does not mean these Tamils can at least leave the so called "Safety zones". They are still guarded by the Sri Lankan Army to keep them inside the zone, while no food or aids are allowed inside.

that sounds like "Life with peace, happiness and dignity?!!" to you?!!

May be those are code words you use for starvation, bombing & shelling and flooding.

Oh don't worry, they're ready. They've been ready for months. As soon as the GoSL actually LET THEM IN to the dam country. Instead the ICRC is the only NGO in the area, and they're grossly under supplied. Why refuse humanitarian AID?  why? seriously, wtf justifies that? maybe.... genocide?

Mr. sathyajith: That's what the Mahinda said "Mahinda Rajapakse's office said in a statement that the move would allow thousands of Tamil civilians trapped in the fighting to celebrate the New Year.", unless you got more power over him to call the shots in Sri Lanka.

Mahinda Rajapakse's office said in a statement that the move would allow thousands of Tamil civilians trapped in the fighting to celebrate the New Year.

The Tamils civilians are under heavy guard by the Sri Lankan Army to keep them in the "safety zone". Even in the article Mahinda did not say Tamils civilians could go anywhere. He only said that the Tamils civilians could celebrate the New Year without any food or shelter, may be thankful to the fact reduced bombing and shelling from the Sri Lankan Army as they celebrate the New Year with food, drinks and the other luxeries in lives.
