Sri Lanka claimed a propaganda victory last night after the United Nations Human Rights Council passed a resolution praising its defeat of the Tamil Tigers and condemning the rebels for using civilians as human shields.

China, India, Egypt and Cuba were among the 29 developing countries that backed a Sri Lankan-proposed resolution describing the conflict as a “domestic matter that doesn’t warrant outside interference”. The resolution also supported Colombo’s insistence on allowing aid group access to 270,000 civilians detained in camps only “as may be appropriate”.

The Sri Lanka Ambassador in Geneva said that European nations had failed with their “punitive and mean-spirited agenda” against his country. “This was a lesson that a handful of countries which depict themselves as the international community do not really constitute the majority,” Dayan Jayatilleka said. “The vast mass of humanity are in support of Sri Lanka.”

Congrats Sri Lanka,  on this significant achievement...!

Now it is the job of the Government to take care of the WDPs  who have gone through hell in last few months.

May be you should consider the evidences mounting to charge Sri Lanka of its war crimes.

Or you could continue to live in your la la land.

An elected government NEVER supposed to act like the Sri Lankan state terrorist government or commit so many war crimes against humanity. So grow up and start learning basics about human rights before you starting to preach and praising your Nazi government.

Evidence are indeed "mounted". Let them "mount" in the minds of disgruntled LTTE supporting diasporans. Working again for money is very difficult - quite understandable for those who live in la la lands as 'asylees'.

Since the stories those the fossils of those ’freedom fighters' are indeed spry cold terror in hearts of KTTEs. No doubt about that. So KTTEs may keep calling whatever they feel like :-). That is how an elected government must act the GoSL did act like that by eliminating dreaded terrorist organization.

It is amusing to see a  KTTE like you who supported the LTTEs human shield tactics  - before they got fossilized  - claiming that the civilians " went willingly to the warzone” now talks about human rights. Somehow it reminds me of Karl Marx's philosophy "Dialectical materialism"

Thanks a lot , for you lightened up my day..!!

That line Agent should be carved on stone - and planted on the roads of where they live.

I (partly) disagree with you, Hiranya... because you missed the most important lines, I think this should be carved on stone:

"It is amusing to see a  KTTE like you who supported the LTTEs human shield tactics  - before they got fossilized  - claiming that the civilians " went willingly to the warzone” now talks about human rights. Somehow it reminds me of Karl Marx's philosophy "Dialectical materialism"."

I guess, if at all, Sri Lanka will need to stand in line behind the United States of America (on Iraq and Afghanistan), Norway for sponsoring International terrorism leading to crimes against humanity, the LTTE for crimes against humanity for a sustained period of approximately 30 years which is what is perceived to have implicated Sri Lanka in taking a position of self-defence, and Kumaran Pathmanathan for illegitimately supplying arms towards crimes against humanity. Let's all, in our collective wisdom, continue to focus and coordinate our efforts towards what may have happened rather than what could be achieved with some certainty - help the Sri Lankan government help the displaced and sufferring Tamil civillians.
