Sri Lanka: Tamil killings 'ordered from the top' Channel 4 report
Channel 4 has released mounting evidence towards the killings of Tamil civilians and surrendering white flagged LTTE cadets in Sri Lanka in the brutal war carried out May 2009 ordered by the Sri Lankan top officials.
After an year of the so called "victory" by the Sri Lankan government, Sri Lanka remains the dangerous and oppressive country for Tamils to live in, many fleeing the country in mere boats to other countries. North and East historical Tamil regions have been forcibly colonized with Sinhalese structures such as Buddhist Viharas and Sri Lankan Sinhalese Secuirty Forces military bases. Ransom, rape, killings, and chaos has become the way of living for Tamils in Sri Lanka, where justice has failed them for decades since 1956.
Mounting international pressure to ask Sri Lanka to cooperate with international independent investigations have been ignored by the Sri Lankan government with fancy reasons and false pretense. If the Rajapaksa regime has nothing to hide, then it should have no problem letting an independent inquiry into the war crimes committed by both sides during the brutal war last year.
International crisis group also have released a Asia report # 191 on May 17 mounting evidence towards the Sri Lankan government to verify its false pretense.
"Crisis Group has collected evidence that provides reasonable grounds to believe the repeated shelling of civilians in the three NFZs [No Fire Zones], combined with the obstruction and undersupplying of food and medical care for civilians, was part of the government’s overall military strategy in the Vanni."
Sri Lankan government sets a bad example for dealing with minority grievances in the world. It has proven that with allies like China, India, Pakistan and Russia, it could deploy a brutal assault on a minority and their struggle for freedom without any consequence.
Tamils all over the world are mourning the deaths of estimated over 40,000 Tamils civilians killed in the brutal war. Many infants were forced to die without food or medicines, a definite actions used by the Sri Lankan government to deny food, and medicines to the over 300,000 Tamils trapped in the small sliver of land called ironically as "safety zone" by the government.
