Wanni Operation - Army Commander Interviewed by ITN on 6th January 2008 - Part 4

Sri Lankan government Forces continues to move closer to rebel tamil hideouts after taking over Kilinochchi, the political headquarters of the Tamil Tiger rebels last week and then marched north. Heavy fighting is under way as troops assault Elephant Pass, the strategic causeway linking the Jaffna peninsula with the mainland.

Sri Lankan troops fighting Tamil rebels on Friday took full control of the highly strategic Elephant Pass, a causeway linking the Jaffna peninsula with the northern mainland, an official said.

The causeway fell to government troops advancing northwards from Kilinochchi, the political headquarters of the Tamil Tigers captured by the army a week ago, a government spokesman said.

"They have established full control over Elephant Pass today after entering the south of the area four days ago," he said.

There was no comment from the Tamil Tigers, who had held the Elephant Pass since April 2000.

A lone Home Guard provides protection at the entrance to Polonnaruwa/Dimbulagal Kajuwatte Junior School. Kajuwatte Situated in Aralaganwila - Dimbulagala in the Polonnaruwa District has been under constant threat of the LTTE. Hence tightened Security at the School of 68 innocent students aged 5 - 13

The Village of around 450 families in the Mahaweli C zone face many hardships including the threat of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam. Aralaganwila was attacked by the LTTE as recently as mid 2002, the so called Years of Peace! Aralaganwila was the target of LTTE brutalities back in the early 1990's where 8 civilians were hacked to death.

Why do they wear these heavy boots? Why do they carry the weapons? Why do they have just one meal, or maybe no meals at all some days? Are they here to protect the innocence from the Wild Beasts that Roam the jungles? Is it because they want to stay in shape? No they're not here to protect the Citizens from Elephants, Bears or wild bore!! No they don't skip meals because they are obese or due to high cholesterol. They do all this and sometimes lay down their lives and limbs; they sacrifice their freedom and youth to protect the innocence from the Brutal atrocities of the LTTE! Click on LTTE Atrocities in Sri Lanka. and LTTE Atrocities in Sri Lanka since 2005. to see the real Genocide carried out against the Peace loving Tamil, Muslim and Sinhalese Civilians all over Sri Lanka by the LTTE which is attempting to create a MONOETHNIC HOMELAND for TAMILS by chasing away all Sinhaelse and Muslims.

LTTE is trapped now and they will resort to ANY TACTICS to somehow reverse these Government victories.

Earlier these past 2 weeks,

1. Government captured Kilinochchi

2. Sirasa media house was attacked

3. Pro-LTTE media person Lasantha W was shot dead

4. The likes of Sanjay Jha reports on news sites that Mahinda Rajapaksha killed Lasantha. Seperately, he quotes from Terrorist website tamilnet also.

5. Government captures Elephant Pass

Sanjay Jha,

I urge you again, think very carefully before you write. Do your research properly if you want to be a proper journalist. And use your brains before you write.

Nice to hear some good news.

As for Sanjay Jha quoting sources..woah, dont shoot the messenger. If he had seen a webpage, it is ok to quote that. If you have different point of view, you can post that too. Fair enough, right?

Agent.

Sanjay Jha has posted a video giving the title as "Mahindas latest Murder victim, Lasantha Wikramatunga"
http://my.nowpublic.com/world/pro-tamil-tiger-editor-shot-colombo

Are you telling me that it's alright to do that? That video clip has no footage at all except the same picture shown on his story, and a line of text saying "Lasantha Wikramatunga, the chief editor of the english weekly sunday leader, who was shot by Mahinda's forces"

What is the use for any viewer to see that video clip may I ask? Is this journalism? You are quick to tell me, a newbie here, not to shoot the messenger, but you will not say a word about a 'super editor' publishing Crap as NEWS ?
